Devil's Ground, t'as pas aimé ? Il préfigurait Seven Seals, dans un sens.

Ben je ne sais plus si je l'ai écouté celui-ci, mais ceux que j'ai entendu ne m'ont pas donné envie de m'intéresser au reste. C'est l'avant dernier je suppose ?

Il est moins speed, un peu plus fin que les autres, avec un Scheepers plus subtil et quelques orchestrations. Mais il est clairement pas du niveau de Seven Seals. C'est une sorte de brouillon. Ils cherchaient à évoluer.

Je m'y pencherais, mais je suis assez sceptique par avance vu mes expériences précédentes !

Ce matin je me suis remis Seven Seals, quel plaisir, toujours aussi top. Et ce que j'aime c'est la diversité de cet album qui, en plus de fournir une jolie panoplie de tueries sauvages, propose des morceaux moins communs à la Sevens Seals, Diabolus ou Carniwar.

... Et il s'appellera New Religion. Sortie prévue le 31 août.

Henny Wolter revient (il jouait sur Nuclear Fire et Black Sun).

Yes, after a long discussion about the future of Primal Fear, we've decided to bring Henny Wolter back to the band. After a four year break, Henny takes over the guitar duties together with Stefan Leibing, who played most of the guitars on the new album "NEW RELIGION".

We decided us against a brandnew face, because Henny is back ready & smoking. Henny's departure 4 years ago was in a very friendly way and the guys stayed in contact during his abscence. Henny did a fantastic job on the new Primal Fear recordings and the following SINNER tour. We are proud to have the riff master from Hannover back in our ranks! Henny will make his comeback with the band on the next show on June 30th in Germany. Welcome Back, Henny!

Et le groupe a tourné un joli clip devant des gros écrans pour les titres Sign of Fear et Fighting the Darkness :

Dommage Naumann semble être un gros songwriter du groupe. Je lui attribue une bonne part dans la réussite de Seven Seals.

Il a pas mal composé pour New Religion. Il est parti au début de l'enregistrement.
On aura droit à ses morceaux sur l'album. C'est toujours ça.

Qu'est ce que j'entends là : en avant guingamp!!! Yeahhhh!

-Le titre Sign of Fear pour lequel ils ont tourné le clip évoqué plus haut n'est pas un inédit, mais le nom définitif du morceau Drenched in Blood.

-La sortie de l'album serait repoussée au 24 Septembre (non, TAOM, lâche ce couteau !).

PRIMAL FEAR started the songwriting for their new CD in October 2006 and the recording began shortly later, at the House Of Music studio with engineer and co-producer Charlie Bauerfeind (BLIND GUARDIAN, SAXON, HAMMERFALL) and longtime producer and band member Mat Sinner.

"I really feel electrified," says Sinner. "I never had such a feeling since the release of the first PRIMAL FEAR album in 1998. We never worked harder on an album before," while singer Ralph Scheepers adds, "'New Religion' is definitely the start of a new chapter in the history of PRIMAL FEAR. The fact we've signed with a new record company and bringing back our good friend Henny Wolter into the band sets more energy free than the launch of a rocket. The band is in the best mood since many many years! Can't believe that? Listen to the album!"

The album proves once again that Randy Black is one of the world's top drummers and singer Ralf Scheepers delivers the most exciting and outstanding vocal performance of his career. Most of the guitars were played by Stefan Leibing. STARBREAKER and ALLAN/LANDE producer/guitarist Magnus Karlsson helped out with two stunning guitar solos prior to Henny Wolter rejoining the band and recording more lead and rhythm guitar for the CD.

EPICA's lead singer Simone Simons was invited to studio to sing the first duet in PRIMAL FEAR recording history, on the song "Everytime It Rains". The band worked on the mix at the Galaxy Studio in Belgium with award-winning engineer Ronald Prent (RAMMSTEIN, IRON MAIDEN, MANOWAR). Mat Sinner states: "We are totally satisfied about the result and the final sound. Ronald did a great job. In my view, 'New Religion' sounds more powerful than the predecessor, even you can hear every single tone crystal clear."

The song "Fighting The Darkness" is divided into three different sections: the first part "Fighting The Darkness" is, according to Mat Sinner, "the best sounding tune the band has released so far," followed by a huge instrumental "The Darkness" and a "Reprise".

"The real metal songs like 'Sign Of Fear', 'Blood On Your Hands' and 'New Religion' are sounding 100% like PRIMAL FEAR, but still different" explains Mat Sinner. "I really love the vibe and that I feel a progress in our work, that there is still space for a new step into creativity. Even the fast, but very melodic tracks like 'Face The Emptiness' and 'The Curse Of Sharon' sounding fresh, new and exciting!"

Two video clips were produced — for "Fighting The Darkness" and "Sign Of Fear" — which are included in the album's limited digipack edition ipak. In Ralph Scheepers' words: "'Sign Of Fear' shows the powerful side of PRIMAL FEAR in a raging performance clip, while 'Fighting The Darkness' is more like acting on a crime scene. After the night shot of 'Sign Of Fear' until 5 AM in the morning, we were all tried to death, but the concept of 'Fighting The Darkness' was such a great challenge for everyone, we really gave more than 200% to look and act good."

Mat Sinner states: "We will start our tour in the U.S. this time and co-headline the ProgPower USA festival in Atlanta. For the first time, we will perform a bunch of songs from the new album on stage! Then we will embark on a double headliner tour together with our friends of U.D.O. through Europe, plus a yet undecided special guest. In December we will tour Japan and Korea, plus some more Xmas shows in Europe. Then we're working on dates in South America, the U.S. and Canada for early 2008!"

On sait vraiment ce qu'il s'est passé ? Il est parti où ils l'ont lourdé ?

Pour le dernier point je ne sais pas vraiment. Il venait juste de revenir le gaillard, contribue à Seven Seals et se barre. Dans le même temps il enregistre l'album de Sinner. Bien zarb comme affaire.

Pour tes autres quotes, que veux-tu, faut bien attirer l'auditeur avec les arguments qu'on peut. Mais le "The real metal songs like 'Sign Of Fear', 'Blood On Your Hands' and 'New Religion' are sounding 100% like PRIMAL FEAR, but still different" est très bon, faut bien avouer. Manquait plus que le "ou pas".

Par contre, on échappe au fameux "The heaviest thing we've ever done", c'est toujours ça.

Pour Naumann, et si c'était une question de style ? Les albums de Sinner sont plus "rock" et un poil plus fins que PF, et c'est le cas aussi pour Seven Seals.

Il avait déjà quitté le groupe après Jaws, je crois. Scheepers et Leibing avaient déclaré qu'une des raisons était qu'il était pas super-fan du Heavy de bûcheron pratiqué à l'époque.

Il aurait mis le temps avant de capter. Le premier et Jaws sont quand même pas des modèles de finesse. Exception faite de Formula 1 (ouais les bruits de moteurs c'est fin ).
