Danish/American hard rock act ROYAL HUNT has issued the following statement:

"ROYAL HUNT and John West [vocals] have decided that at this time (after numerous albums and concert tours) they are no longer able to contribute creatively to each other's future musical development. It's been a hell of a ride, but both parties feel like it is about time to move on and explore different musical paths — therefore, they mutually agreed to part ways as of March 16th, 2007."

"We're not ruling out possible future collaborations for a joint venture or a side project," ROYAL HUNT mainman André Andersen and John said in a joint statement, "but it won't be under the ROYAL HUNT moniker."

John joined ROYAL HUNT in 1999 during the recording of the "Fear" album and he worked with the band until its latest release — the "Royal Hunt 2006" live CD/DVD.

The band added in a statement: "We'd like to express our gratitude to John for a great eight-year run and we wish him all the best in his future endeavors."

ROYAL HUNT is currently working on material for a new album, which it expects to begin recording later in the year. Also in the works is a reissue of the band's live releases "1996" and "Closing the Chapter" (originally released in 1998). More details will be made available soon.

ROYAL HUNT released a DVD and double live album, entitled "Royal Hunt 2006" in November. The set was recorded (and filmed) on the historic stage of St. Petersburg, Russia's Music Hall on November 2, 2005. The show, which was witnessed by some 1,500+ enthusiastic fans, lasted about two hours (the band played a wide selection of songs from all of their releases since 1991 and some tracks from the latest CD, "Paper Blood") and was captured by six cameras. The DVD package also includes backstage/pre-production footage as well as interviews with all the bandmembes and their roadcrew. All mixing duties on the double CD were handled by André Andersen at NorthPoint Productions in Copenhagen. The set was mastered by Jan Eliasson at Audio Planet.

ROYAL HUNT's last studio album, "Paper Blood" was recorded at NorthPoint Productions and was mixed at EMI/Medley Studio with André Andersen (keyboards) and Lars Overgaard behind the board.

Le dernier RH ? bah je ne mâche pas mes mots pour dire que c'est le meilleur de l'ère West.
Plus accrocheur et aggressif. On peine d'ailleurs à reconnaître le groupe tellement la gratte est incisive. Avec un chant beaucoup moins stéréotypé. 'fin bref mon album favori de 2005.

je te jure, il est bon

1- il est pas bon, il est meilleur que les premiers. Ce qui ne signifie pas la même chose.
2- du coup il est évidemment pas aussi bon que RH quand ils sont en forme (Moving target / Paradox) et ça n'a pas grand chose à voir musicalement.

Oublie Cooper Rock, ils ont lancé un casting pour le chanteur :

Andi Deris devrait postuler. Il est tellement génial que sa période avec Royal Hunt deviendrait bien meilleure que celle avec Cooper.
