 Threshold - Dead Reckoning
U.K. progressive metallers THRESHOLD are currently working on material for a new studio album. No firm details are available at the moment, but the band hope to record sometime over the summer. Meanwhile guitarist Karl Groom is currently completing production on a new album for GALAHAD at Thin Ice Studios (England) entitled "Empires Never Last", including a guest guitar solo performance on the track "Sidewinder". He has also recently finished production on the new INTENSE album, which includes guest keyboards by Richard West, and is currently working on a new album for SHADOWKEEP. Meanwhile in Germany, vocalist Andrew "Mac" McDermott is writing and singing on a new album with the power metal band GALLOGLASS, and he's also half way through making a new YARGOS album.

U.K. progressive metallers THRESHOLD are currently tracking the follow-up to their 2004 album "Subsurface". Recording is taking place at Thin Ice Studios and Bray Studios in the south of England, produced by Karl Groom and Richard West.
The new album has a working title of "Pilot In The Sky Of Dreams", and the songtitles are (in no particular order):
01. Slipstream
02. This Is Your Life
03. Elusive
04. Disappear
05. Fighting For Breath
06. Hollow
07. Safe To Fly
08. One Degree Down
09. Landing Lights
Singer Andrew "Mac" McDermott, in the middle of vocal sessions at Bray, said: "If I thought it would be this good I'd have joined THRESHOLD sooner! I've got a good feeling about this album. I think things are going to snowball for us next year, I thought so even before I heard the demos. I'm having a brilliant time!"
THRESHOLD's last album, "Subsurface", picked up 15 "Album Of The Month" awards across the globe. Earlier this year the band moved to Nuclear Blast Records to join a highly successful roster of bands including IN FLAMES, NIGHTWISH and BLIND GUARDIAN.
Recording and mixing of "Pilot In The Sky Of Dreams" is expected to be complete in November, with a release planned for early in 2007.

U.K. progressive metallers THRESHOLD have changed the projected title of their new album to "Dead Reckoning" from the previously announced "Pilot in the Sky of Dreams".
On the change of album title, keyboardist Richard West commented, "We decided that the working title 'Pilot in the Sky of Dreams' was more suitable as a song title — it didn't sound solid or powerful enough to represent the overall sound of the album."
"Dead Reckoning" was produced by Karl Groom and Richard West at Thin Ice Studios. The track listing is as follows:

Avec un invité de marque, Monsieur Dan Swano :
Swedish multi-instrumentalist/producer Dan Swanö (EDGE OF SANITY, NIGHTINGALE, SECOND SKY, BLOODBATH) has laid down backing vocals on the new album from U.K. progressive metallers THRESHOLD, entitled "Dead Reckoning".
Commented Swanö: "My backing growls on the upcoming THRESHOLD album (and the upcoming WINDS album) is the most brutal thing you will hear from me in quite some time. Tore my fucken throat apart for these guys!!"

Band member Richard West commented: "It's a good MUSE song and their recording is very cool, but we've made our version heavier and more powerful than the original. It works so well as a THRESHOLD track that it sounds like MUSE covered our song!"
