Death of a Singer (live)
:: 12-March-2006 7:35 am
We have just added a bootleg recording of a song "Death of a Singer" to the site. This track is set to be on the new album due for release later this year along with Sin by Sin which we uploaded earlier this year.
The track is a tribute to Dimebag and Kurt Cobain (wasn't Dimebag a guitarist?). Although it's a bit noisy to make out what he's singing you can hear the general feel of the song and it sounds pretty good to us. Reminds me of a "Regret" type song from Blood & Belief.

BLAZE, the band fronted by former IRON MAIDEN/WOLFSBANE singer Blaze Bayley, has parted ways its longtime manager Neil Marklew. Neil's statement on the matter reads as follows:
"Firstly, my apologies for the lack of news this year, but, to be honest there has been nothing to report due to the band deciding to 'take a year out.'
"However, the time has come for me to inform you that I will be standing down as manager of the band.
"This is primarily due to the fact that I have had several health issues to deal with this year. As some of you may know, I received a kidney transplant some 11 years ago.
"Until this year this has been deemed as successful but during the past 12 months I have seen an ongoing substantial increase in my blood pressure and a deficiency in the working of the transplanted kidney.
"In July this year I underwent surgery to try and rectify this and whilst early indications show a marked improvement it has become obvious to me that I now must stand aside as the Manager of the band and concentrate fully on my health.
"I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has supported me during my time as manager and whilst this is a painful decision for me to take, I feel that it is best for both me and the band. I wish the band all the best for the future."
BLAZE is currently working on material for its fourth album, tentatively due in early 2007. The band's most recent release, "Blood & Belief", was issued in Europe in April 2004. The follow-up to 2002's "Tenth Dimension" was recorded at Backstage Studios in Derbyshire, England with producer Andy Sneap (NEVERMORE, EXODUS, ARCH ENEMY).

"hello dear fans and friends from me the singer. I thought I would let you know what is going on with the band right now.
first,we are working on new songs. I am putting my ideas together with the rest of the band, and I feel very positive about everything we have done so far. the new material even in its most raw and basic form is a big step forward for the band and me personally as an artist.
because of the focus on new material we felt that we should not do a big bash this year. the main reason is that we would not have time to rehearse a new set for December because all our rehearsals are spent working on the new songs. so we thought ,and we hope you all agree, it is better to work on the new album and get it out on time, than play a sub standard big bash and risk comprising the album.
I am taking a short break from writing to go to Germany and have some fun with some muso friends, as a special guest singer, on Saturday 21st of October in a small town near Dusseldorf. its probably my last live appearance this year and because its not a BLAZE show I can relax and let some one else have all the stress of organizing the gig. if any of you are planning to make the trip to come and see this show please see the link about tickets and directions. I will be signing stuff but at the moment I don't know if it will be before or after the show. If I find out then I'll put details on here.
that's it for now. as all ways thank you all for the support and encouragement you have given me and the rest of the band so far this year. missing you all a lot and looking forward to seeing you out there in the world with some new songs next year.
Cheers Blaze Bayley
the dark messiah"

BLAZE Frontman: New Material 'Is A Big Step Forward' - Oct. 10, 2006
Former IRON MAIDEN/WOLFSBANE and current BLAZE frontman Blaze Bayley has issued the following update regarding the BLAZE band's current activities:
"Hello, dear fans and friends, from me, the singer. I thought I would let you know what is going on with the band right now.
"First, we are working on new songs. I am putting my ideas together with the rest of the band, and I feel very positive about everything we have done so far. The new material, even in its most raw and basic form, is a big step forward for the band and me personally as an artist.
"Because of the focus on new material we felt that we should not do a Big Bash [the annual BLAZE-headlined event in the U.K.] this year. The main reason is that we would not have time to rehearse a new set for December because all our rehearsals are spent working on the new songs. So we thought, and we hope you all agree, it is better to work on the new album and get it out on time than play a substandard Big Bash and risk comprising the album.
"I am taking a short break from writing to go to Germany and have some fun with some muso friends, as a special guest singer, on Saturday 21st of October in a small town near Dusseldorf. It's probably my last live appearance this year, and because it's not a BLAZE show, I can relax and let some one else have all the stress of organizing the gig. I will be signing stuff, but at the moment I don't know if it will be before or after the show.
"That's it for now.
"As always, thank you all for the support and encouragement you have given me and the rest of the band so far this year. Missing you all a lot and looking forward to seeing you out there in the world with some new songs next year."
BLAZE's most recent release, "Blood & Belief", was issued in Europe in April 2004. The follow-up to 2002's "Tenth Dimension" was recorded at Backstage Studios in Derbyshire, England with producer Andy Sneap (NEVERMORE, EXODUS, ARCH ENEMY).
BLAZE's current lineup consists of the following:
Blaze Bayley – Vocals
Oliver Palotai – Guitar
Luca Priciotta – Guitar
Christian Ammann – Bass
Daniel Schild - Drums
yes du neuf enfin!!

According to Blazefans.com, BLAZE frontman Blaze Bayley (ex-IRON MAIDEN, WOLFSBANE) performed with the Hard Rock Cafe house band PURPLE HAZE in Playa de Engles, Gran Canaria on Saturday, November 4. He has checked in with the following update:
"Yeah, I'm still in Gran Canaria working on the new stuff for next year, and on Saturday night, I will be going to hard rock cafe in Playa de Engles. I know the lads from the house band, PURPLE HAZE, and they have asked me to sing a couple of songs with them, and it's my girlfriend's birthday. I'm in the middle of writing the new album. It's intense, so a night out with a bit of live singing is a great break for me.
"The writing is going much better than I had hoped. I'm really starting to get a feel for the vibe of the whole thing, and I can't wait to start the rehearsals with the rest of the BLAZE band in January."

bon Blaze a viré tout son line-up, va falloir encore etre patient je le sens :
Former IRON MAIDEN/WOLFSBANE singer Blaze Bayley has parted ways with the members of his most recent BLAZE touring lineup. The departing members — Oliver Palotai (guitar), Luca Princiotta (guitar), Christian Ammann (bass), and Daniel Schild (drums) — have issued the following statement regarding the matter:
"We are in the sad situation to give out the news that the complete current lineup of BLAZE, therefore the authors of this letter, will leave the band.
"In the past years BLAZE was in a difficult situation, regarding finances, management and organization. Finally, during summer 2006, things started to clear up a bit, after working together on all those aspects.
"Most of the songs for the next album have been already written together. Still — in a tough music business today — we were prepared it would be not easy to launch the new era of BLAZE. But we always had the feeling we had a great band, further being really good friends, and being capable of handling that.
"But about four months ago Blaze Bayley got in contact with a new management. The ideas and working style of this management quickly showed to be very different what we, the musicians, considered to be right for this band.
"Blaze Bayley himself decided to stay with the management. Thus a common basis for making music together is not longer existing.
"We thank you for all your support during the past years. Have a happy and successful year 2007.

Former IRON MAIDEN/WOLFSBANE singer Blaze Bayley has commented on the split with the members of his most recent BLAZE touring lineup. The departing members — Oliver Palotai (guitar), Luca Princiotta (guitar), Christian Ammann (bass), and Daniel Schild (drums) — issued a statement over the weekend blaming Blaze's new management for contributing to the split. Bayley has since released the following statement via his official web site:
"Dear friends and fans,
"Some of you may be worried about rumours that I am dead. I am not dead.
Some of you may have heard that BLAZE the band is finished. It is just beginning.
"There are inevitable changes in life. We have all been subjected to and endured changes that we didn't want but most of us know that without change there cannot be growth. For things to grow they need strong roots to keep them in the ground so that when the big storms of life come they can survive and are not taken by the wind. A tall building must have a strong foundations so it can stand and be unaffected by the changing seasons of this world, so it is with everything and so it is with my band.
"My roots have been metal music. My foundations have been the loyal fans and friends and family that have stood by me and made me keep believing in the dream I started with, no man could ask for better support.
"I will see some of you in Poland at the Metalmania Festival on 24th March. There I will be with the greatest BLAZE band ever, there I will play the greatest show of my life. All is written."
