Très belles mélodies, une montée en puissance captivante, un titre super agréable à écouter. Le seul reproche que je ferais c'est que je l'aurais bien vu déboucher sur un solo de guitare genre envolée cosmique... Mais bon, ça sera pour un autre morceau i hope !

British metallers ANATHEMA have posted the following message on their official web site:

"We would like to confirm that ANATHEMA WILL play in Jordan [in August] despite the ongoing violence in neighbouring countries. Furthermore, ANATHEMA travel to play this concert with a determination to put on a very positive show.

"In the presence of troubles and conflict ongoing around the world, we feel as one with the ordinary people everwhere — those who wish only to live their lives in peace, with enough food on the table and enough love in their hearts. And so we travel with open hearts and with a positive message.

"Choose love.

"In addition, a second free download track: 'A Simple Mistake' will be released on this site in the next couple of days. This song and 'Everything' will definately be played in Jordan and all our forthcoming concerts. These songs represent the next chapter of ANATHEMA songwriting. Songs with a message of hope."

Metal Mind Productions released a new ANATHEMA DVD, entitled "A Moment in Time", on June 19 in Europe (July 18 in the U.S.). The main part of DVD was recorded in Poland at the famous Metal Mania Festival 2006 (the biggest hard rock/metal festival in Eastern Europe). The set list included their best songs plus a cover of PINK FLOYD's "Comfortably Numb". The guest performance was done by a string quartet. Bonus material includes live video footage, video clips, and a documentary. The DVD will be available also in a limited edition with bonus audio CD.

ANATHEMA are currently unsigned as a result of having been dropped by BMG/Zomba after their previous label, Music For Nations, was folded into parent company Zomba Records Group (the world's largest independent music group).

Commented the band: "This song is still a work in progress, but we feel it is right to release this version online, to give you an idea of some of the musical 'colours' we are painting in these days.

"The narrative of this song can be seen as a continuation and expansion of the themes expressed on 'everything.' Letting go of the past and moving on is essential in order to live a more fulfilled life, and this song deals directly with this idea.

"It seems ironic that this song is developing an idea that a minority of our fans seem to be struggling with. The idea that as in life, we must learn from, and then let go of the past, so ANATHEMA MUST develop and move and grow as a musical expression.

"Life is not about what has happened, but about what is going to happen. For this reason it only seems more fitting that this song should be released now.

Morceau plein de charme, en effet. La montée finale est réellement belle. Je me laisserais sûrement tenter par l'album.

En parlant d'ANATHEMA... : j'ai adoré le violon dans Alternative 4, please quelqu'un connaîtrait-il un groupe ou un album pratiquant le même genre de musique avec un(e) violoniste ? MY DYING BRIDE je crois, mais je ne connais pas, je ne sais pas du tout quoi écouter...

La chanteuse de Stream of Passion joue du violon sur certains morceaux de cet autre projet d'Arjen Lucassen (fondateur d'Ayreon, pour le plus connu). Par contre, ça n'a rien à voir avec Anathema musicalement ...

Vui, j'ai écouté STREAM OF PASSION mais je n'ai pas accroché, de bonne qualité oui, mais pas trop mon truc.

En fait je recherche un truc un peu plus Metal et surtout assez spleeneux, avec des atmosphéres envoutantes, tout ça.

Et je conseille a tout le monde le dernier DVD du groupe, il est d'une qualité rare et propose une set list bien différente du precedent DVD, A moment in time sera pas loin de mes DVD de l'année!

Snif, personne ne connait un groupe ou un album à me conseiller alors ?

Si tu aimes le violon je te conseille l'album "Perpetual desolation" du groupe "The sins of thy beloved".

Il faut aimer le style, du métal gothique à chant death + chant féminin, mais question violon ça me fait toujours autant vibrer.
Le problème de cet album c'est que les chansons se ressemblent assez.
Mais bon, c'est triste comme j'aime et les ambiances sont bien rendues...

J'écoute le MY DYING BRIDE là, ia pas de violon, snif... Puis ça me botte pas plus que ça, c'est p'tête pas le moment.

Dans la foulée j'm'écoute Turn Loose The Swans; mieux, mais définitivement pas une musique qui me passionne.

C'est sûr que My Dying Bride, c'est pas trop le groupe qu'on sort pour égayer une soirée !!
Pourtant Turn Loose The Swans est très beau comme album, mais d'une tristesse infinie. Il faut être dans l'état d'esprit qui va bien. Désépéré, quoi !!

The Angel And The Dark River est pas mal aussi dans le même style.

Si tu veux du MDB avec violon , écoute plutôt "Like Gods of the Sun"
Ds la meme veine , il y a Swallow the Sun ( the ghost of loss) aussi.

Mais plus proches d'anathema on trouve Katatonia ( "Brave Murder Day" ou encore "Viva emptyness" : tres différents mais tout aussi bons l'un que l'autre), mais y'a pas de vilon dedans.

Sinon , ds le cas ou tu veux Absolument ecouter du violon il y a tj Skyclad.. mais c'est plutôt singulier comme zic
