Former MEGADETH bassist James MacDonough (also ex-ICED EARTH) — who was fired from the group on February, 10, 2006 due to "personal differences" — has made a number of new MEGADETH- and ICED EARTH-related merchandise items available for purchase via eBay. The new items available for fans to bid on include the following:

Regarding why he has chosen to sell these items now, MacDonough told BLABBERMOUTH.NET, "I'm in the process moving and for the ten years I've been touring I've aquired a lot of 'swag.' I usually took one of everything but now I have a couple boxes full of things I don't wear and it's just taking up space. I figure [the fans] would enjoy it more than I am so there you go, that's it in a nuttshell. It's not a beef against Dave [Mustaine] and MEGADETH or Jon [Schaffer] and ICED EARTH. I hope [the fans are] able to enjoy some of this stuff. Peace, and you'll be hearing from me soon."
MacDonough's replacement in MEGADETH is James Lomenzo, who has previously played with BLACK LABEL SOCIETY and WHITE LION, among other bands.
Lomenzo will make his live debut with MEGADETH on March 16 at the Desert Rock 2006 festival in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

la nouvelle gueule de Vic suite à un concours sur le net :
MEGADETH's beloved mascot "Vic Rattlehead" has a new face thanks to the artists at deviantART.com. The web site, online home to the largest group of artists in the world, hosted a contest to redesign the longtime mascot for one of the most legendary metal bands of all time and frontman Dave Mustaine chose the winner himself: Polish artist Michal Loranc (whose "deviant" name is Xaay).
Vic Rattlehead has appeared on several MEGADETH albums as well as a myriad of band merchandise. Mustaine created the first Vic himself but decided after two decades that it was time for a revamping. The singer viewed all 2,500 submissions himself and said he knew the winner as soon as he saw it.
"It was exciting to see the different entries, but this one stayed true to the idea of the contest which was to create an update of Vic," said Mustaine. "This artist had a futurist vision — you can still tell it's Vic, but he's morphed over time."
Loranc, who has his own death metal project, is a huge fan of MEGADETH and said he considered the band's longtime fans when he came up with the idea and wanted to make sure the mascot was recognizable. Aside from the glory and recognition of designing the new Vic, he wins a LTD AXXION, a Dave Mustaine Signature Serious electric guitar from ESP. The second and third place winners won signature guitars as well, the LTD DV8-R, and LTD DV200 respectively.
"This was the most high stakes contest we've ever hosted and we were blown away by the quality and volume of submissions," said deviantART.com CEO/Co-Founder Angelo Sotira. "As the largest society of creative people on the Internet, deviantART was a natural place to host the contest and I am so proud of the community for stepping up to the challenge with some incredible work."
Mustaine says he not only discovered a new Vic, but a new group of artists to work with on future projects, whether its album covers or T-shirt designs.
"This turned out great for everyone. We now have a relationship with the deviantART community and I would definitely love to do this again."
deviantART.com allows all artists across the globe to create their own personal webpage and upload art for free. It currently hosts over 19 million pieces of art.

Une envie de changement chez Mustaine, je prends ça plutot comme une bonne nouvelle, perso.
Après j'aime bien le design, même si ça n'a rien de très original...

MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine has posted the following message in the "Forums" section of the band's official web site:
"[I] spent the last few days tracking with [Glen Drover, guitar] and [Shawn Drover, drums], and it is the coolest thing to see them be a part of it for real now. And yesterday especially, was an interesting guitar day, when I witnessed the moment the songs went from an idea in my head to [Glen] getting it. And he is such a great player that each song immediately comes to life as soon as he played on it.
"Got some good news to report coming up this week and I wanted to personally thank every one of you that helped our new DVD ['The Arsenal of Megadeth'] debut at #6 in America.
"This is going to be a great year!!!"
MEGADETH's appearance at this year's Desert Rock 2006 festival on March 16 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates marked their debut performance with new bassist James Lomenzo, who has previously played with BLACK LABEL SOCIETY and WHITE LION, among others.
Lomenzo joined MEGADETH as the replacement for James MacDonough (ex-ICED EARTH), who was fired from the group on February 10, 2006 due to "personal differences."

David Borgioli-Jones of Rockdetector.com has conducted a brand new interview with MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine. A few excerpts from the chat follow:
Rockdetector.com: It's really exciting to hear there's a new MEGADETH album on the horizon. What stage are you at with it?
Mustaine: "Well, we're still working on developing the songs. We don't leave until the middle of the month to start working on it. We go into the studio on the 19th of April."
Rockdetector.com: Are you writing all of the material for this album or are the other guys contributing as well?
Mustaine: "So far I have. I mean, there's one song that has some stuff from the Drovers [Glen and Shawn, guitar and drums, respectively] that I'm looking at. So far 11 of those songs on the record have been started and one of those has something from them. But I also had told James Lomenzo [bass] that if he wanted to submit some stuff during the song writing process that you know, I'm cool with that. So we're going to have some really interesting stuff going on with these guys because they're all really good players."
Rockdetector.com: How did you first meet up with James Lomenzo?
Mustaine: "You know what? He was recommended to me by the person at ESP guitars that handles all of the relations with the artists there, a guy named Allen Steelgrave. When MEGADETH had decided to go out and play after the record was written — you know, I had no intention of making this a permanent thing — but as things continued to progress and they got better and better, I decided that I would make it a permanent thing. I looked at the positions that I'd had in the band and what I wanted to do going forward and that's when I decided that I wanted to get a different bass player and that I wanted to work with Glen Drover and that I needed to see where Shawn Drover was with all of his stuff because he hadn't had a lot of experience prior to being in MEGADETH. Talking to him was really exciting because he knows so much about music and metal in general. And to be able to go in there with him and his brother and to make the songs now is really exciting for them because they're starting to see the processes of creating the songs that they've been listening to and enjoying for so long."
Rockdetector.com: David [Ellefson] and yourself were in MEGADETH since the very beginning. Do you miss having him in the band even though things went bad in the end?
Mustaine: "Well, you know what? I have talked to him since the break-up. And of course remember he sued me. And I tried talking to him after that to see if there was anything left there and it was just too foreign. You know, I had said something to him about doing something with MEGADETH and although as preposterous as that seems after having somebody drag your name through the mud in a public arena where literally millions around the entire globe saw all this stuff, it was really hard for me to go back to him and say, 'Hey you know what? Do you want a second chance?' But, um… that's not really what happened. I just kind of wanted to extend an olive branch and just say, 'You know what? No hard feelings, you spent a lot of money to try and sue me and you lost, and I'm sorry for that'."
Rockdetector.com: What was James MacDonough's reason for leaving the band?
Mustaine: "Um, no reason. He just had come in to help me on a basis where we wanted to tour and the whole thing, like I said in the beginning, I didn't know how long it was going to last. So none of this was permanent, it was just temporary. The Drovers were still in another band (EIDOLON) at the time."

pochette moche => DOD => Maiden depuis Prower ?
