According to MelodicRock.com, MASTERPLAN frontman Jorn Lande (ex-ARK, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN) is back at work on a new solo album, due in 2006. Tentatively titled "The Duke", Lande's fourth solo album is being described by the singer as a more "classic rock"-sounding record, with production from Tommy Hansen, who helmed Lande's sophomore CD, "Worldchanger". The band featured on the new album will include bassist Morty Black (TNT), guitarists Tore Moren (CARNIVORA) and Jorn Viggo Lofstad (PAGAN'S MIND), along with drummer Willy Bendikson (COMPANY OF SNAKES).

Mouais, vu le contexte c'est pas encore pour demain qu'on aura un truc du genre d'ARK quoi...

aucune confiance ... LANDE en solo ça peut etre bien comme vraiment pitable ... on verra bien

J'ai écouté vite fait les extraits (de 1 min en plein milieu des titres...) : c'est très Masterplanesque et pas franchement varié... à voir mais bon...

C'est exactement la remarque que je m'étais faite ! Très Masterplan dans l'exprit. On est loin d'un Worldchanger.

Unlocking the Past - L'album de reprises:


Youuuuuu're theeeeeeee keeper of the seven keeeeeyys...

"Unlocking the Past" includes some previously unreleased cover songs that were originally considered to be "leftovers" or additional bonus tracks for previous JORN albums. Many of them were never included on any official release. Some brand new covers were also recorded specifically for this release. Dust has been brushed from these recordings; the remix of "Burn", "The day the earth caught fire" (which originally appeared on Jorn's solo debut album "Starfire"), and the remastered version of "On and On" (which was supposed to appear on a Millennium covers album a few years back), complete the tracklisting of the album.

Des reprises qui étaient pour la plupart destinées à figurer en bonus sur les précédents albums de Jorn, tandis que "The Day The Earth Caught Fire" (ici remixé) est extrait de son premier album Starfire et que "On and On" (ici restauré) devait à l'origine figurer sur une compil' de reprises par divers artistes. La reprise de "Burn" a elle aussi été remixée pour l'occasion.

Quelques autres reprises ont été spécialement enregistrées pour compléter l'album.

On a cette fois-ci droit à des réenregistrements d'anciens titres qui figuraient sur les précédents efforts solo de Jorn (c'est le même principe que Gamma Ray et son Blast From the Past).

"With "The Gathering"", Jorn says, "I'm removing dust from some of my earlier recordings because I believe some of these songs deserve a second chance in history". "Some tracks have been rerecorded from scratch, simply because I felt they would sound better with new arrangements and approach" continues the Norwegian singer, adding "Others have been remixed and have this way been given a "face lift" due to the fact that the original recordings didn't sound that great productionwise. All songs have been digitally mastered by my good friend Tommy Hansen and I hope that this album will please my old as well as my newer fans".

Jorn a réengistré ces chansons car selon lui, "elles ont droit à une seconde chance. Certains titres ont été entièrement réenregistrés, avec de nouveaux arrangements et une approche inédite qui devraient les faire mieux sonner. D'autres ont juste subi un lifting en étant remixés avec une production actuelle, les originaux n'ayant pas bénéficié d'une aussi bonne production à l'époque."
