Fear Factory is set to record a new album starting May 5th
in North Hollywood California with acclaimed producer Toby Wright. The album is expected to release early Fall on Calvin Records.

Ca m'fait penser que j'suis venu ce matin au taf avec "Archetype" & me fait dire que si ils nous repondent un album de cette qualité, perso, je signe des 2 mains !!!!

J'attent voir la qualité de l'album avant de me réjouire

Pas faux si on vient à penser à Digimortal mais bon, j'vais plutôt opter pour une continuité de la qualité du dernier !

J'aime bien Digimortal, bien sûr il ne vaut pas ces 2 prédécesseurs, mais je le trouve bien sympa et en aucun cas mauvais.
Je pense qu'il ne feront jamais mieux que Demanufacture et Obsolete, mais Archetype m'avait agréablement surpris.

Attention ne me fait pas dire ce que j'ai pas dis...
Perso je ne trouve pas Digimortal mauvais cependant, on pouvait commencer à se poser des questions..... concrétisées par le split du groupe original....
A ce titre, le come-back avec Archetype dans la veine de Obsolete (que j'adore) m'a fait bien plaisir ! mais bon, ce n'est que mon opinion en même temps

Je n'ai pas cru que tu pensais que Digimortal était mauvais . J'ai dit que je ne le trouvais en aucun cas mauvais, par opposition à bon nombre de gens que j'ai rencontré (pas du forum) ou lu sur le net (pas ici non plus) et qui crachaient dessus. J'ai juste donné une petite appreciation sur cet album que j'ai bien aimé. Concernant le nouveau il me tarde de l'écouter

Je précise à tous ceux qui liraient le sujet jusqu'ici que les posts que nous sommes en train d'écrire n'ont qu'un seul objet : la promotion des brésiliens de Fear Factory ...
A ce titre, il est inutile de préciser que je pense strictement la même chose de mon nouveau pote de forum

Transgression sera le titre du prochain album de Fear factory qui devrait sortir le 23 août sur Trillion Records/Liquid 8, le groupe entrant en studio dans quelques jours avec Toby Wright (Alice In Chains, Korn) à la production. Certains titres de morceaux sont : "Transgression", "New Promise" (co-écrit avec Mark Morton de Lamb Of God), "Empire", "Lockdown", "540,000 Degrees Fahrenheit", "Echo Of My Scream", "Super Nova" (ces 2 derniers avec en guest Billy Gould, ex-Faith No More).

Le groupe a également enregistré 2 reprises : une de Killing Joke ("Millenium") et une de Godflesh ("Anthem"). Ces 2 reprises devraient figurer sur la version anglaise de l'album. Et nous alors??!! ;(

Ben Archetype ça fait un peu plus d’un an il me semble, si le nouveau est aussi bon je n’aurais rien contre une telle cadence

Blasting-Zone.com recently conducted an in-depth interview with FEAR FACTORY vocalist Burton C. Bell. Several excerpts follow:

Blasting-Zone.com: What can you tell us about your new album?

Burton: "I really feel it's going to be something very fresh for FEAR FACTORY fans. [Producer] Toby Wright has helped us find something we have been searching a very long time for. The music has a really good feeling. It has a really good sound to it. I think it’s a couple of steps forward from 'Archetype', that's for sure."

Blasting-Zone.com: Really? Wow…I thought that disc was great.

Burton: "It was a great record, ya know? It was a great comeback record, a great reminder, if you will. With this one, it will be obvious right off the bat. We feel like we almost kinda played it safe with 'Archetype', but with this record, each member of the band is totally moving forward. Listening to Raymond beats, it's just incredible… it's like, 'How the fuck is he even doing it?' (laughs). Christian and Raymond have been writing together. Raymond has been writing [to] Christian's riffs. The riffs are really sick and there's a lot of different time signatures. I'm very happy with the sound on this record."

Blasting-Zone.com: In your opinion, what has been the main creative difference between "Archetype" and your latest disc?

Burton: "I think everyone is just a lot more focused (laughs). It's hard to really say what it is that we did different. The only real difference is that we're working with a producer of Toby Wright's caliber. He's brought something to FEAR FACTORY that's really interesting. That's the only way I can really describe it. I'm really excited about it. It's totally FEAR FACTORY yet something a little different, ya know? You gotta hear it to understand it, really. I think it's gonna really surprise a lot of people. We've got our core fan base that just love FEAR FACTORY. If we can interest a few more people…"

Blasting-Zone.com: Would you say that the sound on the new record is a radical departure from what your fans have grown accustomed to?

Burton: "I wouldn't say it's radical…I'd say it's an evolution that makes sense. With 'Archetype', we were all kinda playin' it safe. 'Let's jut put out a FEAR FACTORY record,' ya know? We had a new guitar player. That was part of it. He was already a member of FEAR FACTORY, he was just changing guns, so to speak. In a sense, we had to show our fans, those that knew the whole story of what had happened during those three years, that we could still make a FEAR FACTORY record. 'Archetype' is the definition of FEAR FACTORY in its most basic form. We had to do that record due to extenuating circumstances. Not only were we playing it safe, Raymond and I were getting used to a new guitar player as well. We chose Christian because we couldn't think of anybody else. We were like 'Why don't you do it?' It's a hell of a lot easier to find a new bass player than a guitar player."

Blasting-Zone.com: Well, he did have some pretty serious shoe to fill…

Burton: "Dino was a great guitar player. He wrote some great riffs for FEAR FACTORY. Above that, that's the way it is. Whatever else happened just happened. You just can't control that shit. I will give him props, though. He was a great guitar player."
