Relapse Recods annoncent qu'ils vont rééditer les albums d'Athéist à partir de la fin de l'Automne :

"Relapse Records is proud to announce the forthcoming reissue of the entire recorded works of seminal technical metal pioneers ATHEIST.

ATHEIST was one of the first truly adventurous bands to break out of the late 80's death metal underground. In addition to ATHEIST's albums (1989's Piece of Time, 1992's Unquestionable Presence, and 1993's Elements) being benchmarks of quality and progression, the band's musical vision directly influenced many noteworthy artists both past (CYNIC, later-era DEATH, PESTILENCE) and present (The DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN, NECROPHAGIST, SPIRAL ARCHITECT).


"I am overwhelmed with joy to see the re-release of the entire ATHEIST catalog after so many years." commented guitarist/vocalist and founding member Kelly Shaefer. Shaefer continues, "I've toured extensively since making these records, and everywhere I go I run into people who were not just into ATHEIST, but who praised the band's uniqueness and how much it forced them to progress as musicians and push the boundaries as players."


"I have been hunting for a label that would treat the catalog with the respect it deserves and whose goal is the same as ours: to turn the new generation of extreme metal and prog metal heads onto ATHEIST. Relapse is that label as it has a true understanding of where ATHEIST helped to rewrite the timeline of metal."


Relapse will start by issuing a limited edition, foil-stamped box set containing LP versions of each of the ATHEIST full-lengths, as well as the R.A.V.A.G.E. (pre-ATHEIST) "On They Slay" 7" EP exclusive to this edition. The LP box will be strictly limited to 1,000 copies and surface in July. The CD re-issues will follow in the late Summer/early Fall starting with Elements on August 30 (US) and September 5 (Europe).

( Sont patients mes amis "troubadours" de chercher ma musique de sauvage quand ils vont chez les disquaires )

Je connais juste "Unquestionnable Presence", c'est un MONUMENT ce disque !!!

Former ATHEIST Frontman Kelly Shaefer - "It's Very Likely That We Will Play Select Festivals Next Year"

ATHEIST frontman Kelly Shaefer has announced via the band's official forum that reunion dates are possible next year. Says Shaefer: "It's very likely that we will play a few select festivals next year with the original UP lineup (including bassist Tony Choy, drummer Steve Flynn, guitarist Rand Burkey) but we need the right situation in order to do it. We would love to hit the stage with these tunes one last time and do it correctly, so hopefully we will find the right situation, and place to reunite, and put together a string of shows in 2006. But reforming will not happen, we would not want to taint the integrity by trying to re-create the past so to speak you know guys?? But a few shows would fucking rule!! I hope it happens, I am totally into it."



Bassist Tony Chow (ex-PESTILENCE, CYNIC) added: "Man you know I would love to see Athiest in any of those festivals as long as we can play again together. I was listening to the reissue CD's and man that was some crazy shit we were doing I love it. It brought back some serious memories so let's pull together to see this shit happen again."

Je me suis acheté Unquestionnable Presence l'autre jour et vla ti pas que je recois un mail de priceminister (votre souhait est exaucé) qui m'annonce que cet album est en vente pour 22 euros. Les mêmes mecs revendaient leur album à plus de 40 euros pièce. Bien fait pour leurs tronches Ils ne se feront pas une plus value la dessus

Idem, dès que les rééditions ont été annoncées, j'ai eu les mails de Priceminister qui m'annonçait que ces rats voulaient ce débarasser de leurs CDs a un prix encore élevé.
