Après avoir annoncé sur les réseaux sociaux la sortie simultanée de 4 nouveaux albums le 1er avril dernier, le groupe de heavy metal LORDI a déclaré qu’il s’agissait d’un canular. En vérité, le combo finlandais sortira sept nouveaux albums studio en octobre 2021 chez AFM Records.

Les sept nouveaux albums marqueront la nouvelle ère musicale du groupe depuis Killection en 2020, un album conceptuel qui était une compilation fictive contenant des chansons que le groupe aurait écrites entre le début des années 70 et le milieu des années 90. Nous avions longuement échangé avec Mr. Lordi à cette occasion et cet entretien est toujours disponible dans nos colonnes.

S’inscrivant dans la même pensée que derrière Killection, M. Lordi explique : « La semaine où le Killectour a été interrompu en mars 2020, j’ai réalisé que nous devions utiliser ce temps supplémentaire soudain d’une manière ou d’une autre. Il était clair qu’il était temps de commencer à planifier le nouvel album, même si « Killection » est sorti il ​​y a deux mois à peine. Je pensais que la chose la plus ennuyeuse que nous puissions faire après « Killection », c’était de faire un autre album de base de Lordi. Et j’aimais beaucoup les différents styles d’écriture, d’enregistrement et production sur „Killection“, mais une autre idée ennuyeuse aurait été de faire une partie 2. Puisque „Killection“ est un album de compilation fictif à partir d’un ancien catalogue fictif qui n’existe pas, j’ai eu l’idée que la seule chose qui pouvait être au-dessus de cela, c’était d’enregistrer et de sortir ce catalogue passé fictif. Et jusqu’à Halloween 2021, ce catalogue arrière fictif ne sera plus fictif, il existera réellement… du moins pour la plupart. Mon idée originale était de sortir 10 albums, mais le label m’a dit que c’était insensé. Mais 7 est un nombre qu’il juge un peu plus sain d’esprit, hahahaha! »

Le groupe rajoute : « Les albums sonneront tous différemment les uns des autres, ils sont tous dans des styles et des époques fictives différents dans la chronologie de « Killection ». Soit dit en passant, 5 des 7 albums sont déjà terminés, et le numéro 6 est en bonne voie. »

The "Lordiversity" box shall be available on November 26 as seven-CD box set and as seven-vinyl box set in three different color editions. Each album has a different genre approach: hard rock, disco, progressive rock, heavy metal, AOR, thrash/speed metal and industrial metal.

The band's leader, Mr. Lordi, explains: "Within a week when the 'Killectour' was cut short in March 2020, I realized we're gonna have to use the sudden extra time somehow. It was clear that it is the time to start planning the new album, even though 'Killection' was released not even two months before. I was thinking that the most boring thing we could do after 'Killection' is to do another basic LORDI album. And I was very much enjoying the different styles of songwriting, recording and production on 'Killection', but another boring idea would have been to do a part 2. Since 'Killection' is a fictional compilation album from a fictional back catalog that doesn't exist, I got the idea that the only thing that could top that is to record and release that fictional back catalog. And until Halloween 2021 the fictional back catalog will be no longer fictional, it actually will exist... at least for the most part. My original idea was to release 10 albums, but the label said that is insane. But seven is a number they felt that is somewhat sane, hahahaha!"

The newly released song "Believe Me" has its origin in the band's fictional disco era. Imagine LORDI performing a classic disco track in the style of ABBA, KISS or the BEE GEES in the late 1970s, while disco music hit its peak. A hilarious and entertaining idea that now becomes reality.

Amen-Ra (a.k.a. Amen),the founding guitarist of the Finnish monster group LORDI, has announced his departure from the band.

Earlier today, the 49-year-old musician, whose real name is Jussi Sydänmaa, issued the following statement via social media: "THIS IS THE END

"My beloved friends, fans and supporters. My heart has never been as heavy as it is today. Never. Today is the day that I have to tell you that my guitar has became silent in LORDI.

"I never thought I'd write these lines, but life happens and people chang
