Iron Maiden appear to have narrowly avoided landing in the earthquake hit capital of Japan after Ed Force One was diverted to Nagoya.

The metal legends were due to play at the Super Arena in Tokyo tomorrow and Sunday night, and they were transporting their equipment to the venue after last night's gig in Seoul.

However, following this morning's devastating 8.8 Richter scale earthquake the band were diverted to safety and a post on the band's official site read:

"Ed Force One, heading to Tokyo for shows this weekend, was diverted to Nagoya and the band and crew are safe. This is all we know right now - we will post an update later when we have more information."

Our thoughts go out to everyone in Japan right now after the huge and terrible earthquake and tsunami this morning.

J'aime bien, les trois titres de l'ère Blaze le sont en version live

Oui sans doute mais sortir un best of de cette période est un poil culotté je trouve, après bon l'achat est loin d'être indispensable, peut être en vynil à la rigueur

Moi ce qui me sidère (au delà du fait que CDLM), c'est de zapper aussi méchamment la période Blaze. Tant qu'à faire, y'avait peut-être moyen de ne faire un best of que sur les 4 derniers. Y'aurais eu un début de cohérence.

c'est surtout Blaze qui est zappé, je parie gros que les versions live des 3 titres sont interprétés par Bruce

Oui, c'est ce que je voulais dire. Il me semble évident que ce sera Bruce. Je trouve que ça fait pas propre quoi.

J'ai horreur des "Best of Greatest Hits Collection of Machin Truc", pour moi CDLM (celui-ci à plus forte raison): faut dire que je voue un culte aux petites compiles persos, ou le choix des morceaux est souvent beaucoup plus exhaustif et moins "cheveu sur la soupe" (sans évoquer le fait que c'est gratuit, bien entendu). Et puis, l'idée de payer pour des chansons qu'on a déjà me dépasse toujours... Bon après, j'dis pas, si on a une âme de collectionneur, ça peut avoir un intéret certain (surtout chez Maiden, qui propose toujours un packageing de haute qualité). Mais bon, rien à voir avec Annihilator qui distribue gratuitement son best-of via son site web...

Autrement, selon mes sources (des gens très hauts placés chez EMI), les morceaux live sont bien interprétés par Bruce et sont tirés du Rock in Rio...

blague à part et mis à part le fait que j'überkiffe la pochette, je suis de l'avis de Noise, c'est cool de sortir un best of de cette période, on peut dire ce qu'on veut de maiden, mais ils aiment brasser leurs différentes époques, autant en live qu'en compil, c'est un plus non négligeable je trouve. sans compter que mis à part el doradaube et for the greater god of good, le reste des choix, c'est de la compil à se passer en boucle matin et soir pendant tout le printemps. oui.

Non, mais c'est une chanson de merde, présente sur un album qui ne fait pas date dans la discographie de Maiden, et dont il faut oublier l'existence même...

Cela dit, je m'ai trompé: dont acte. Super mea culpa quand même...

Oh, c'était plus une taquinerie qu'autre chose; je sais qu'il a ses admirateurs par ici... En plus, j'ai beau me dire qu'il est nul (rapport à la Diva qui est partie) et tout et tout, mais j'ai quand même un petit attachement que je ne saurais expliquer pour the "Sign of the Cross" et pour "Lord of the Flies" (et p't'être aussi pour "Blood on the World's Hands" et "The Aftermath", dans les jours ou j'me sens chrétien) c'qui fait que je le trouve pas si mauvais qu'on veut bien le dire, après tout... Rien que pour cela, je ne puis me résoudre à m'en séparer.

Par contre, "Virtual XI" est inexistant.

C'est un excellent album et "man on the edge" est un putain de titre (en partie repompé sur le dernier album, "the alchemist", hum hum...).

Je trouve ça franchement puant de virer Blaze de ce best-of, en plus je n'ai jamais aimé que l'on mette des titres live sur un best-of, ou alors faut les mettre à la fin. De plus, je trouve ça précipité de sortir une compil avec des titres du dernier album seulement quelques mois après sa sortie. Ils auraient pu attendre quand même. Franchement indécent tout ça.

J'avais exclu la logique comme motivation dès que j'ai vu El Dorado. Mais oui, vu comme ça...

Tu sais, je prends toujours un malin plaisir à le taquiner à grand coup de Falling dooooown, falling dooooooown et de Fortune of war, fortune of war, fortune of war no pain anymore
