Long-running Seattle metallers METAL CHURCH have issued the following update:

"After an overwhelming response to the album cover art [contest] for our new release, we have finally decided on a wining cover. The artist's name is Rainer Kalwitz from Germany who is amazingly talented.

"Due to so many talented entries, we have decided to incorporate several of the other submissions for the inner sleeve of the CD. This has really shown us what dedicated fans we have that truly understand our music and we are so fortunate to have the best fans in the world. We raise the horns to you, the Congregation!

"We would also like to take this time to thank each and every one of you for your hard work, and for all of you that gave your opinions on the art we put up on our MySpace page. The ones on the MySpace page are only a fraction of the entries we received so you can imagine the difficult decisions we were faced with when choosing the winner.

"Once we have had a chance to contact everyone whose artwork we have decided on, we will release their names. All artists' names will also appear on the CD with a very special thanks.

"We are so excited seeing the new release come together and we are stoked to share it with you. The fact that our fans were a part of this process makes us very happy. We will keep you posted on the actual release date which should be early summer."

METAL CHURCH singer Ronny Munroe is currently laying down vocal tracks for the band's new album, which will be entitled "This Present Wasteland".

The group recently parted ways with guitarist Jay Reynolds (also of MALICE) for "personal reasons." A replacement guitarist has not yet been announced.

METAL CHURCH's latest album, "A Light in the Dark", was released in June 2006 via SPV. The CD includes a new version of the classic "Watch the Children Pray" as a tribute to vocalist David Wayne, who passed away in May 2005.

ça m'avait bien botté le cul en live (même si c'était en festoche). D'ailleurs Ronnie Munroe avait tout détruit, j'étais presque déçu une fois que je l'ai entendu sur CD

"We regretfully announce that METAL CHURCH is calling it quits.

"The performance at Rocklahoma will be our last show. We have had to cancel the shows scheduled for August and that, among other things, has led us to have to make this decision.

"There has been far too much frustration and disappointment in trying to keep moving forward. The collapse of our record company, SPV, has made it next to impossible for us to continue in any kind of professional manner due to lack of tour support. This decision was not made lightly.

"We do have unfinished business in the studio, and with any luck we will have something that will be of interest to METAL CHURCH fans in the near future.

"We would like to thank all the fans that have stuck with METAL CHURCH through all these years, the lineup changes and the ups and downs.

"We can't tell you how much your support has meant to us, we appreciate each and every one of you.

"It's been a great ride."

C'est pas trop tôt.


Ce qui aurait été mieux pour eux c'est qu'ils fassent comme plein de groupes de heavy US des 80's : ne pas sortir d'album (ou un tous les 10 ans) et ce contenter de quelques concert à droite à gauche. Un peu comme Omen. Parceque les derniers Metal Church n'ont vraiment aucun intérêt.


Par contre les raisons du split, c'est vraiment pas de bol.

Ben moi ça me fait chier, j'aurais bien aimer les voir live.

et moi les revoir, hors fest. dommage

J'ai toujours été un grand fan de MC mais je dois avouer qu'il ne restait plus rien en terme d'effectif ni d'inspiration. Les derniers albums étaient bien produits mais un peu pas du tout inspirés hormis quelques titres.

On dira ce qu'on voudra, d'une part, un nouveau chanteur ça change tout et remplacer Arrington à la batterie était pas choses aisée.

Le dernier très bon album que je vous recommande de découvrir est Masterpeace avec vraiment d'excellent titres mais par contre une production un peu faiblarde.

Dommage.

ah j'aurais dis The human factor comme dernier excellent album moi!!!!

"The Human Factor" est effectivement une bombe atomique, mais j'apprécie énormément "Masterpeace" !
