Thank you all so much for the messages of support you have sent to Debbie and me. Debbie is off the critical list and now in a hospital ward for recovery.
She has been in a coma for 7 weeks. I miss her a lot at home. Debbie is stable and out of danger of any kind of stroke or aneurism, not much seems to happen from one day to the next but I feel that she has started a long road to recovery. She cannot open her eyes, speak or communicate, but she can respond sometimes when she is asked to move her toes on her right foot, but that is about it. Sometimes she is agitated and her left arm stretches out while her right arm contracts and she makes a fist out of each hand, this happens when she seems to be in pain - patients with injuries of this type are known to have very severe headaches - so I think that is probably what is happening.
To test her progress, every 8 hours the nurses ask her to move her toes, sometimes she can do this sometimes she can't, they also open her eyes one at a time and shine a light in her eye to observe the movement and reaction of her pupils, this is the most encouraging thing because 4 weeks ago there was no reaction at all to the light but now there is a small reaction each time they do the light test, so for me it is the first sign that she really is fighting her way back. Sometimes her left eye opens slightly and it looks to me like she trying her hardest to open her eyes, this only happens for a few seconds at a time and sometimes not at all, but it is a source of comfort to me.
It is obvious to me now, this will be a very long process, and it will take months or even years. Every day I am with her I tell her that I love her and that she is getting better. I tell her about what we are booking for next year and anything else I can think of. When I run out of things to say, I put the headphones on her and play her favourite CDs for her, it seems to comfort her.
I was at the lowest point in my life when we got together, even though we have known each other and been in touch most of our adult lives it was only during the last few years that we have been together as man and wife.
When she came back into my life, I was flat broke. I had no record deal no management and no solid band line up. I was working a job I hated; I was severely depressed and drinking heavily. She saved me. She believed in me and her love and courage and support made it possible for me to come back and make "The Man Who Would Not Die" album, from which track 4 is the song about Debbie. I wrote her a poem when she was away from me for a few days and Nico came up with the music, and then we turned it into a song for her. It was the first song I played her when we finished the album.
She is an incredible person and the only person I have ever put before my music. I hope I can repay her faith in me by continuing to have faith in her, and believing in her. Thank you all once again for the support you have shown my wife and I in these difficult times and for the incredible amount of emails enquiring about her condition. I will update you on any progress that Debbie makes over the next weeks and months.
If you love someone, tell them you love them now, and tell them every day. We don't know what days we have or what they will bring.

The official web site of the UK-based heavy metal singer Blaze Bayley (ex-IRON MAIDEN, WOLFSBANE) — whose wife/manager Debbie collapsed at the couple's home in Tamworth on July 6 — has been updated with the following message:
"At 7pm on Tuesday, September 23rd, Debbie suffered a stroke in hospital. This meant that she has been rushed back into intensive care and is once again critically ill. Blaze is with her at the hospital most of the time, so once again if you are trying to contact him, please be patient. He, Debbie's family and friends, and the whole band as well, very much appreciate all of the support that has been sent, especially the huge number of emails and messages sent through the website and MySpace site."

Lui il a rien, c'est le Man Who Would Not Die.

RIP.

"Because you are my beating heart
You are the reason why I breathe
These are the things I realise
While you were gone"

Citation: I have lost the love of my life. I have lost my reason to live. But, because she asked me to continue to live, and to stay true to the path she worked so hard to make clear for me, I will continue. For her and for you, all of you that believed she was right to have faith in me, I will continue. For her memory and to honour her, I will continue.

UK-based heavy metal singer Blaze Bayley (ex-IRON MAIDEN, WOLFSBANE) will film his December 13, 2008 concert at Z7 in Pratteln, Switzerland for an upcoming DVD. According to a posting on Blaze's web site, "The show will be the full 'The Tour That Will Not Die' set with plenty of new tracks from the latest album, some old favorites and also some brand new previously unreleased tracks. The first 500 DVDs sold through [the official Blaze Bayley] website will be strictly limited-edition double disc sets, with T-shirt and commemorative wristband available only with this packaged, signed and numbered (in purchasing order) by the band. The DVD will also feature extras and highlights from the warm-up shows that stretch to the Big Bash. Both Dudley [UK concert on December 29] and Z7 are also being recorded for not only the DVD but a live album. Jase Edwards will once again be handling production duties. Filming will be done by Kris McManus of Animus Pictures. The DVD is expected to ship in February to be available for March."
Blaze Bayley's new album, "The Man Who Would Not Die", was mixed by former WOLFSBANE guitarist Jase Edwards at Jase's studio in Tamworth, Staffordshire, England. Released on July 7 via Bayley's own independent label (with additional licensing to various countries), the CD was engineered by James Dunkley, produced by Blaze Bayley and it takes Blaze in new songwriting directions, ushering in a new phase of an already renowned career. It is also the first recorded showcase for Blaze's new lineup.
