Guitarist Christofer Malmström of the Swedish thrashers DARKANE has issued the following update from the recording sessions for the group's new studio album, due later in the year via Nuclear Blast Records:

"Here's the sixth video blog. It includes the recording of the bass and some guitar solos. Enjoy! Also, we have now decided to name the album 'Demonic Art' after one of the songs. The lyrics are based on the same theme as on 'Organic Canvas' (from our previous album 'Layers of Lies'), about an individual planning his next exhibition of flesh.

You don't wanna miss that if you live in the area! We are gonna play in direct support to TESTAMENT May 3rd. This will also be Jens' [Broman, vocals] debut on American soil!"

j'ai généralement beaucoup de mal avec les groupes qui changent de chanteur.
j'avais tellement aimé "layer of lies" que j'ai peur d'être déçu là.

According to the band, "12 songs ended up on the final version, with about 48 minutes of pure aggressive, brutal, melodic, modern, technical, furious, fast, heavy and insane thrash metal! We are very proud of this album and we know for sure that if you liked what we've done before you won't be disappointed in any way this time either. DARKANE has developed in a way that hopefully will give us new fans as well, not meaning that we've turned softer or more mainstream... just better! ...and more humble."

bon, j'écoute en ce moment même.
le nouveau chanteur est bon, mais pas autant qu el'ancien je trouve. Il est plus agressif (ou encore plus si vous preferez), mais plus limité (l'un masquant l'autre, bien entendu).
Dommage, Darkane n'a pas profité du changement de chanteur pour se renouveller. On retrouve les mêmes recettes, qui font que j'avais adoré l'ancien, mais celui-ci apporte-t-il suffisemment de nouveautés pour garder mon intérêt? à voir.
en tout cas sinon c'est du très bon, on ne s'ennuit pas, les refrains presque en chant clair sont là. Mais est-ce que ça va au-delà?
