Swedish metallers AMON AMARTH have issued the following update:

"We are back from our final leg of our world tour, and our shows in Australia and New Zealand were fantastic. We would like to thank Nic and Simon from JSR Productions for taking such good care of us during this tour. We'd also like to thank NOTHING for the great support and for putting on killer shows every night, but most of all we want to thank all you Australian and New Zealand fans who came out to the shows and made them bloody amazing! Thank you!

"Our touring is done for this time, and even though we do have a couple of shows coming up this spring, our main effort will be writing and recording a new album. The plan is to return to Fascination Street Studios in May to record the new album, once again working with Jens Bogren as engineer and producer."

AMON AMARTH Launches Web Site In Support Of New Album - May 8, 2008
Swedish Viking metallers AMON AMARTH entered Fascination Street Studio in Örebro, Sweden on May 1 to begin recording our seventh full-length album for a late 2008 release via Metal Blade Records. To make the wait a bit more entertaining, Metal Blade has launched an exclusive web site with lots of features. The site will be updated with more information about AMON AMARTH's forthcoming CD, starting off with an exclusive AMON AMARTH comic strip attack that is brought to you not only by this exclusive web site, but also by several print magazines all over Europe.

j'adore ce groupe ! super mentalité, super imagerie, super son, je les ai découvert l'été dernier au hellfest summer open air et depuis j'ai écouté leur discographie et je suis sur le cul! mes préférences sont les albums the avenger, fate of norns et with oden on our side!

j'espère qu'ils vont nous pondre une merveille! je sais pas par contre s'ils gardent le même line-up! quelqu'un a un info?

Sortie le 22 septembre, nom de l'album : Twilight Of The Thunder God

yeah, tres bonne nouvel que cette sortie de ce nouvel album, en esperant qu'il soit aussi réussis que "with oden on our side"

je préférerais qu'il soit aussi réussi que "versus the world".
Perso , je trouve que "With oden on our side" comporte trop de titres quelconque et des riffs déjà entendu sur les précédents opus.
Certes Amon Amarth a un style bien particulier qui veut cela mais je ne l'ai aps trouvé très inspiré ce dernier album.

J'attends beaucoup de ce nouvel album pour relever le niveau!

perso celui que j'aime le moins c'est versus the world (par contre le cd bonus est fort interessant )alors que le dernier en date est mon préféré de la discographie d'amon amarth

Je l'avais acheté le dernier. Très efficace.

C'est le genre de groupe où un seul bon album suffit.
Ils s'enferment dans un style tellement marqué que leur marge de manoeuvre est inexistante. Ils ne font que se répéter.

Il y a quand même une grande différence entre le premier et le dernier album.

C'est ce que je me dis à chaque fois que je termine une écoute de With Oden on our side. Je jetterai une oreille sur le nouveau mais je n'en attends rien.

Le premier reste le seul que je connais pas. Les autres, j'arrive pas à les distinguer. Si on me balançait leurs titres en BT, je serais incapable de dire de quel album vient telle chanson.

le premier est très bon, il contient mon morceau favoris d'amon amarth qui est "victorious march" sinon je possède tout les cds du groupe et j'attends avec intérêt le prochain. J'espère que la pochette ne ressemblera pas à celle de "the crusher" et "versus the world" qui sont assez moche

In Europe "Twilight of the Thunder God" will be released as a limited first edition 3-disc-set including a bonus CD and a bonus DVD. This deluxe collector's edition comes in highly valuable packaging featuring special layout and the AMON AMARTH comic which is currently being published in several metal magazines all over Europe.



The album will also be released as a limited edition gatefold 2-LP on 180g etched vinyl!
