Ça sera pour 2008, mais c'est une nouvelle qui peut déboucher sur un CD de big qualité ! :

"ASIA: Geoff Downes, Steve Howe, Carl Palmer & John Wetton announce the release of a brand new studio album on Frontiers Records.
Asia, the first legendary super group to emerge with the dawn of the MTV-age, reunited in 2006 with its original line-up. The founding members Geoff Downes, Steve Howe, Carl Palmer and John Wetton all had experiences in Classic Rock icons such as Yes, Emerson Lake & Palmer, King Crimson and The Buggles, and released one of the most enduring and commercially successful debuts of all time. Simply entitled “ASIA”, the album stayed at the #1 spot on the Billboard Top 100 album chart for an astounding 9 weeks in 1982. Only a handful of albums such as Pink Floyd’s “Dark Side Of The Moon” and Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” have been #1 on the Billboard charts for a longer time.

ASIA celebrated the 25th anniversary of the debut album’s release with a world tour that brought more than 70 successful dates. During their time and work together, the four musicians started to write new songs and, in the summer 2007, they started working on the recording of a brand new all original studio album. The natural choice for the band was to sign a worldwide deal with Frontiers Records, the Italian label which has a solid trademark for quality, enthusiasm and professionalism in Classic Rock Music.

“Our initial optimism was more than rewarded by the enthusiasm of our fans” says, John Wetton. Adds Geoff Downes: “ It’s great finally to give some new music to those Asia fans who have remained with us patiently all these years”. “There is a certain chemistry and energy that comes out when the four of us are working together and the new material reflects this”, says drummer Carl Palmer. “This is the REAL ASIA”, states guitarist Steve Howe “and the new album will be the landmark of our enthusiasm and pleasure to work together again”. Geoffrey Downes concludes: “We’ve all remained dedicated to our craft of making compelling and powerful music. After many years apart, I think we all have a new and very fresh attitude to the music. I am looking forward to playing the new songs on stage”.

Recording is well underway with a commercial release scheduled for April 2008. The new album will also see the return of Roger Dean who will provide one of his paintings for the cover art. ASIA has already announced a new UK Tour in March 2008, where they will be showcasing the songs from the yet untitled album for the first time. More tour dates are being settled in the USA and Japan for the rest of the Spring 2008, with a full European tour to follow.
In other news Asia will now be in Louisiana in April. The band will play April 26th at the Paragon Casino (Mari Center 2) in Marksville, LA. In addition, the Harrisburg, PA show has been moved from April 1st to April 7th, and the Ridgefield, CT show on April 9th has been canceled. Refunds are available through the Ridgefield Playhouse. The latest itinerary can always be found on the Asia website.
"

Quel line-up quand j'y pense... :D

Vu au même endroit que toujours :

"NO-MAN:’s sixth studio album, Schoolyard Ghosts, is scheduled for release on KScope/Snapper Records on 12th May 2008. Compared to its predecessor (2003's atmospheric Together We're Stranger) Schoolyard Ghosts shows the band moving towards an altogether purer and more personal place, far removed from the art pop/indie dance experiments of its acclaimed 1993 One Little Indian debut release, Loveblows & Lovecries.

A distinctive combination of beautifully detailed songwriting, haunting melodies and inventively cinematic production, Schoolyard Ghosts sees Tim and Steven expanding the band's sonic palette yet again by collaborating with (amongst others) Californian pedal steel guitar ace Bruce Kaphan (American Music Club, Red House Painters), drummers Pat Mastelotto (King Crimson, Mastica) and Gavin Harrison (Porcupine Tree, King Crimson), saxophonist/flautist Theo Travis, and the London Session Orchestra arranged by Dave Stewart (Hatfield & The North, Egg, Stewart & Gaskin etc).

Featuring the hypnotic Wherever There Is Light, the warped dynamism of Pigeon Drummer, the outsider lament of All Sweet Things and the subtly evolving explorations of the uplifting 13-minute semi-orchestral epic Truenorth, Schoolyard Ghosts represents the band's most consistent and mature work to date and looks set to build upon the success of predecessors Returning Jesus and Together We're Stranger.

The album was written and recorded between Autumn 2007 and Steven during the January 2008 recording sessions Spring 2008 in No-Man’s Land, Hemel Hempstead, UK; with additional recording in Norwich (UK), Lille (France), Vimmerby (Sweden), New York City, Austin and California (USA). Final orchestral sessions are being recorded in London in mid-March.

The full album tracklisting has been confirmed as follows:

All Sweet Things
Beautiful Songs You Should Know
Pigeon Drummer
Truenorth
Wherever There Is Light
Song Of The Surf
Streaming
Mixtaped

) , prog folk ( HARMONIUM , MALICORNE , Alan STIVELL , MAYFLY , .... ) , Prog & Jazz ( UK , BRAND X , BRUFORD , MAHAVISHNU ORCHESTRA , .... ) , l'école de Canterbury ( CARAVAN , HATFIELD AND THE NORTH , Hugh HOPPER , MATCHING MOLE , Kevin AYERS , .... ) , Krautrock ( CAN , AMON DUUL , KRAFTWERK , FAUST , NEU! , MAMMUT, ... ) ,.......

Une double page sur le prog en France ( ALICE , ANGE , GONG , TRIANGLE , ILOUS & DECUYPER , KOMINTERN , .... ) et en ITALIE ( CHERRY FIVE / GOBLIN , BANCO DEL MUTUO SOCCORSO , ..... ) .

"PRESTO BALLET : releases second album ....
At last... the second release from Presto Ballet, "The Lost Art Of Time Travel" is now available!! Still keeping to his classic 70's progressive rock roots, Kurdt Vanderhoof serves up another hard rockin' classic prog album. "This album is a bit more focused then the first release," says Vanderhoof. "The songs tend to be a bit more epic in arrangement, but still concentrating on melody." And as always, this album was made using only classic analog synths, Mellotrons, and other similar gear. "Thats what Presto is all about, we want to keep that sound alive." If you were a fan of the debut album, "Peace Among The Ruins", you must add "The Lost Art Of Time Travel" to your collection!

Track list:

The Mind Machine (10:50)
Thieves (9:04)
You're Alive (4:24)
One Tragedy At A Time (14:00)
I'm Not Blind (6:16)
Easy Tomorrow (6:30)
Haze (9:28)

UKZ, le nouveau groupe d'Eddie JOBSON... ça se confirme !!! :D

Citation:
Riding the FREQUENCY
We are pleased to announce that the new album, Frequency, is almost ready for release. Final mixing will take place on February 21st and 22nd by Mike Holmes at Aubitt Studios.
This means we can schedule a release for April which may mean that the disc will be on sale for the first time at the newly announced shows. With a bit of luck we may be able to ship out copies before that time. Pre-Ordering will begin shortly via the upcoming IQ Online Store.

Andy Takes A Break
Due to unforseen personal circumstances. Andy Edwards has decided to take a year out from IQ. We obviously wish him all the best and hope to see him resume IQ duties in 2010.
As we have a new record, Frequency, about to be released, it was not an option to write this year off. Therefore, we are excited to announce that for the shows this year, former IQ member, Paul Cook will fill in for Andy.
So, welcome back Mr Bear and see you all at the shows.
