AC/DC's Ultimate Career-Spanning DVD Box Set 'Plug Me In' Due In October - Aug. 24, 2007
Columbia Records will release "Plug Me In" — the ultimate career-spanning DVD box set of live performances, interviews and more from AC/DC, the world's most electrifying rock and roll band — on Tuesday, October 16.

The first AC/DC release since the band came to Columbia Records earlier this year, the AC/DC "Plug Me In" DVD collection brings together for the very first time an astonishing five hours of definitive live concert and television performances — many of them previously unavailable — chronicling the ongoing career (now in its fourth decade!) of a groundbreaking rock and roll powerhouse whose music transcends the test of time.

"AC/DC has delivered the most dynamic rock and roll music in the world," said Steve Barnett, Chairman, Columbia Records. "Columbia is honored to be releasing this definitive career-spanning retrospective featuring many of AC/DC's finest filmed performances."

Disc One of the AC/DC "Plug Me In" DVD collection begins with a performance of "High Voltage" performed in October 1975 on Australia's "King of Pop" awards show. The first disc of "Plug Me In" is devoted to the band's formative years (1975-1979) with the late Bon Scott capturing the group in its full early glory with more than 20 performances including rare black-and-white video footage of the notorious St. Albans High School concert on March 3, 1976; the very first UK television appearance in July 1976; pristine live full-color stereo concert performances from Glasgow and Essex University in 1978; and three songs — including the very first public performance of "Highway To Hell" — from Netherlands television in 1979. Bonus material on Disc One includes a Bon Scott interview from November 1977; extraordinary band interviews from 1976; and four songs recorded live in Nice on December 15, 1979, one of Bon Scott's last concerts with the band before his tragic death on February 19, 1980.

Disc Two of the AC/DC "Plug Me In" DVD collection covers the band's second great epoch: the Brian Johnson era which began with the release of "Back In Black" in 1980 and continues to this day. In addition to more than 20 performances drawn from three decades of concerts around the world — including an extremely rare Japanese television appearance from February 1981, blistering '80s and '90s sets from Detroit to Moscow, incredible footage from 1996's "Ballbreaker" tour (including the "Beavis & Butthead" intro), and 21st century barnburners in Paris, Munich, and Toronto — "Plug Me In" includes a fantastic array of bonus material including the AC/DC Donnington interview on the "Old Grey Whistle Test" (August 1984) and AC/DC's in-concert performance of "Rock Me Baby" with THE ROLLING STONES.

A deluxe collector's edition of "Plug Me In" — containing a third DVD of 21 additional rare performances spanning both the Bon Scott and Brian Johnson eras as well as a treasure trove of facsimile reproductions of authentic AC/DC memorabilia — will also be available for a limited time beginning Tuesday, October 16.

The AC/DC "Plug Me In" DVD box set is both a Holy Grail for aficionados of AC/DC as well as an ideal and comprehensive introduction to the music and history of a pioneering band that continues to define the electrifying possibilities of rock and roll.

Vu hier à la Fnac. J'ai failli acheter et finalement non.
La version doubke DVD est à 27€ et la version triple à 54...
Le double pour un DVD en plus. Ca fait mal au coeur.

Je préfère avoir des avis avant de l'acheter. Je trouve dommage que les concerts ne soient pas complets et surtout répartis sur les différents DVD (exemple, pour le concert de l'appolo de Glasgow, certains titres sont sur le DVD 1 et d'autres sur le 3).... Ca pose des problèmes d'unité. Moi qui rève d'un concert complet avec Bon Scott....

En parlant de AC/DC, RTL a consacré la saga de samedi dernier à AC/DC....pas de réelle surprise mais une question pour gagner ce coffret et la joie d'entendre du hard rock à la radio !

Par contre si quelqu'un a lu Rock Hard, il y a un concours pour gagner la ginson SG de angus......valeur : 1300 euros!

AC/DC will reportedly play special "secret" club gig on January 25 at Glashaus in Reinach, Switzerland. Only 400 tickets are apparently available for the concert, which is part of a short mini-tour of small venues the band is planning on undertaking at the end of the month.

According to the Spanish web site RafaBasa.com, AC/DC has been quietly working on its first all-new album since 2000's "Stiff Upper Lip" with legendary producer Robert John "Mutt" Lange, and is planning on releasing the effort — which is rumored to be titled "Strap It On" (a name that has apparently been bounced around for at least the last couple of years) — at the end of April. The group's guitarist, Angus Young, is also said to have fully recovered from a recent knee injury which had apparently contributed to the delay in getting the new record completed.

Spinner.com reports that Australian hard rock icons AC/DC are getting closer to ending an eight-year drought of new music. "God, I'm ready," bassist Cliff Williams, who was in L.A. to participate at the Rock and Roll Fantasy Camp, tells Spinner.com. To that end, the group will hit the studio March 1.

Almost as long as the wait for new music is the band's absence from the stage. Tour plans, however, aren't as firm. "If we go out again or when we go out again," Williams said. "You just never know. We've been around a long time, so we're going to get together and get in the studio and I fully expect we will [tour.]. I don't mean to be so negative about that. [When] the last tour ended in early '01, you'd see kids on their dads' shoulders. And these kids were like 10, 12 years old. It will be tremendous to see that again. And it's very cool — younger kids getting into older music."

Sur le site officiel du groupe Supersuckers, la dernière news est loin d'être passé inaperçue aux yeux des officionados des Boys.
Voici ce qu'écrit le chanteur de ce groupe : "Je suis sûr que vous vous demandez tous quand ce tant attendu nouvel album des Supersuckers va enfin sortir. La bonne nouvelle c'est qu'il est bien en préparation, la moins bonne, c'est que ça prend un peu plus de temps que ce qu'il était initialement prévu. Le seul petit accroc en fait, c'est que le producteur de notre futur album veut faire quelques derniers petits ajustements et qu'en ce moment... comment dire.. il est un peu occupé... Il est en fait pris par un petit groupe Australien appelé, humm.. AC/DC. Et oui, notre homme, Billy Bowers, celui là même qui a fait un si bon travail sur notre EP "Paid", est également ingénieur pour Brendan O'Brien qui va produire le prochain album d'AC/DC et ne peut donc pas fignoler notre travail actuellement... Il nous a promis de se pencher sur nos pistes dès qu'il sera libéré de ses obligations et qu'on a pas vraiment le choix de toute façon. ..."

Depuis quelques temps déjà, des rumeurs incessantes faisaient déjà part de l'arrivée de Brendan O'Brien derrière les manettes du nouvel album d'AC/DC, et même si il n'avait jamais officié avec les Boys auparavant.
Qui est il exactement ? Un des producteurs des plus reconnus du moment, qui a travaillé avec succès sur les derniers opus de Bruce Springsteen, The Offsprings ou Audioslave pour n'en citer que quelques uns tant la liste est impressionnante et prestigieuse.
Le rôle d'un producteur est d'être le porte-parole du groupe dans le studio. Il explique aux ingénieurs ce que veut le groupe en des termes qui sont très spécifiques aux studios d'enregistrement et à leurs mécanismes. Il est le capitaine à bord, le garant des volontés du groupe et de leurs concrétisations techniques. Il est accompagné de l'ingénieur son, en l'occurence Billy Bowers, son vieux complice habituel.
Le choix de Brendan O'Brien n'est pas anodin, il occupe le poste clé dans la fabrication de ce nouvel album qui signera le grand retour d'AC/DC !

AC/DC has finished recording its new album and is currently mixing the effort for a late 2008 release, the group's vocalist Brian Johnson revealed this morning (Tuesday, April 22) during an interview with Washigton D.C.'s DC 101 radio station. Johnson has apparently left the studio in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada where AC/DC guitarists Angus and Malcolm Young have remained with producers Mike Fraser and Brendan O'Brien in order to complete work on the CD. Brian also stated that the band will next work on getting the artwork done and take care of the promotional activities in connection with the release, to be followed by a tour.

Moi j'attend un album meilleur que Stiff Upper Lip, et j'espère bien ne pas être déçu !

J'espère qu'il y aura des concerts en France.

perso je n'attends rien de ce nouvel album d'ac/dc , vue leur médiocre précédent album qu'est stiff upper lip enfin wait and see

ba j'ai pas trouvé Stiff Upper Lip si mauvais en fait, bon j'ai commencé AC/DC avec cet album donc je suis peut être pas hyper objectif, mais même si il y a quelques longueurs, je le trouve encore pas si mauvais que ça.

Perso j'ai bien aimé les 2/3 de Stiff. Les 4 derniers titres sont à ch*ier par contre.

C'est vrai que le mieux à faire est d'attendre, pour le petit nouveau. Il est prévu pour cet été ?

en fait j'ai surtout du mal avec la période brian johnson alors que j'aime bien les albums avec bon scott
