Voici ce que j'ai lu sur le site officiel : In the past few months we received many concerned mails asking if Rock'n'Rolf is still alive and if the band is still active today - the simple answer is: yes, Rolf is still alive and busy working on new material and so is the band.

En attendant un tribute avec que des morceaux récents par des groupes de 4ème zone, c'est pour toi Rabbit ![]() The upcoming tribute to German metal legends RUNNING WILD — which will contain cover versions of songs exclusively from the albums "The Rivalry" (1998), "Victory" (2000), "The Brotherhood" (2002) and "Rogues En Vogue" (2005) — will be titled "ReUnation - A Tribute To Running Wild" and is tentatively scheduled for release in the fall. The artwork (see below) was created by Romanian graphic artist Costin Chioreanu, who has previously worked with such bands as ABSU, CENTINEX, DEMONICAL, NEGURA BUNGET and THUNDERSTORM. Commented Chioreanu: "I am deeply honored to work for such a big heavy metal legend as RUNNING WILD. I know this is just a tribute album, not a brand-new studio release, but its rôle is quite important in my opinion. RUNNING WILD was and still is a crucial influence for generations of heavy metal bands, so I think it's very interesting too see how the young blood interprets in their very own way the songs of this legend. "I know that on the last four RUNNING WILD albums the lyrical themes were a bit different than on the older ones — they were centered more around the political and social side of life — and that's why I wanted from the first place to build up something that should look somehow political, but keeping also the old atmosphere of RUNNING WILD's image. Adrian, their mascot ever since, is now the symbol of the revolt with some damaged flags without identity behind him. He destroys the chessboard where some characters are ruling their game. Right behind Adrian there is a chest full of other pieces, kinda removed from the board from the first place. Maybe some of the fans will recognize some of them...I didn't want to make it very explicit. I felt also that I had to get Adrian older but keeping also his dark and rebel look. I think this artwork speaks by itself regarding the title: 'ReUnation' — it's something like to reunite the differences by destroying who unite them as similarities." So far the following bands/tracks are confirmed to appear on the set: CRYSTAL VIPER - "Libertalia" MAGICA - "Victory" ORDEN OGAN - "Skull & Bones" SATANOCHIO - "Siberian Winter" SKILTRON - "Ballad Of William Kidd" THUNDERSTORM - "Welcome To Hell" 5TH SONIC BRIGADE - to be announced SUIDAKRA - to be announced WARHEAD - to be announced WILD KNIGHT - to be announced |

Le concert de Wacker signe donc bien la fin du groupe : For the 20th anniversary of Wacken Ballroom, Hamburg presents the German metal legend RUNNING WILD for their last mega-show on Europe's largest metal stage - fittingly to the 30th anniversary of the band. Rock'n'Rolf (vocals, guitar) is taking his final leave with a bombastic farewell show on Thursday, July 30th 2009 during the ‘Night To Remember’. "To all true Running Wild fans: Now after 30 years of Running Wild I feel it's time to lower the flag and to take down the sails to face new challenges. That's why we want to celebrate the 30 years' history of the band for a last time at this year's Wacken Open Air on the occasion of its 20th anniversary with a two-hour headlining Best-Of show on Thursday, July 30th with a lot of surprises to bring it to a dignified end. It's also planned to record a Live-DVD and CD of that show to make it complete. Now I can look down with calmness on the last 30 years and I feel proud of what I have reached. At the same time, nothing of that would have been possible without your support during the last decades. That's why I wanna say thanks for all the wonderful moments of that career and I wish you all the best for the future!” There are going to be specials already in the run-up: Like for example the W:O:A warm-up, Running Wild party on May 31st 2009 at Ballroom Hamburg. The highlight will be the start of the Running Wild tattoo contest. Show your personal Running Wild tattoos. A camera-team will be on-site to record you and your artwork for the live DVD. Should you not be able to take part in person, take pictures of your tattoos and send them to: otti@ballroom-hamburg.com (subject: "Running Wild Tattoo-Contest"). The final contest will take place at Wacken, the winner is going up on the stage during the show. Additionally the best tattoos are going to be printed in the booklet of the DVD. Exclusive Fan-Song-Voting: Vote your setlist for the show and send a mail with the songs you want to hear to: setlist@running-wild.net (subject: "Running Wild Fan-Song-Voting") and use our forum. You and Running Wild: Send your pictures of concerts, after-shows, meet and greets etc. of the past 30 years with Running Wild to: otti@ballroom-hamburg.com (subject: "30 Years With Running Wild") |
