Gothic metal icons PARADISE LOST are currently preparing the recordings for their highly anticipated follow-up to 2007’s extremely successful In Requiem. Vocalist Nick Holmes comments as follows:

“The album as yet untitled will feature around 10 tracks, among the titles are "First Light", "As Horizons End", "Faith Divides Us, Death Unites Us", "Frailty" & "My Last Regret" - these are subject to change without notice!

We are very happy with Rhys Fulbers work on the last album In Requiem, but after working on 3 albums together we decided it was time to go for a different approach. After hearing the work he did with our Anatomy Of Melancholy Live DVD we decided that Jens Bogren was the man for the job. In February we will venture to Sweden to begin recording the album in Fascination Street Studios, Örebro, Sweden.

There is no full time replacement for Jeff as yet, but as far as the album is concerned, the drum stool will be occupied by another Swede - Peter Damin. Sweden hails some of the best metal musicians in the world and Peter is no exception, we really look forward to working with him and his input on the album.

Our approach this time has leaned even more towards the heavier side of things, even more so than the last. It is vital not to lose touch with our musical trip over the last 20 years. Our music may have had different facelifts, but it has always been "dark" and the new album will be no exception. Musically and lyrically.

Writing a new album is always exciting, we never get bored of writing music, and for me, it is the best part of being in a band. Each album is like a challenge to better ourselves, or at the very least, do something that's different to everyone else. We strive to make the ultimate modern Gothic Metal album, and for me that has nothing to do with the common trend of "romance" & "roses". It should be music to be murdered by.”

J'attends ça avec impatience. Je me demande ce que ça va donner tout ça.

Je trouve ça courageux de changer de producteur. Ca montre la volonté d'évoluer. C'est pas comme Helloween avec Bauerfeind tiens !

j'espere que le prochain sera plus equilibré que In Requiem ... il y a 4 fabuleux morceaux ( Never for the damned / the enemy / lamented praise Shade / In Requiem ) mais le reste est plutot anecdotique ...

mais pareil .. plutot impatient et confiant ...

j'adore toujours autant sur album, mais je n'irai plus les voir en live.
LE groupe en pilotage automatique par excellence.
J'adore leurs morceaux et j'arrive à me faire chier en live : un comble!
Peut être aussi que je les ais trop vu.... :?

J'ai le même problème que toi.

J'aime toujours leurs classiques, et les écoute de temps en temps mais c'est l'image "live" que j'ai d'eux qui m'agace. On dirait vraiment que c'est juste un job alimentaire pour eux, aucun plaisir de jouer ne transparait.

J'ai donné une chance à Draconian Times et Icon, mais ça m'a rien laissé de mémorable. Si la qualité des albums va decrescendo, je pense que c'est même pas la peine de m'intéresser au reste.

j'ai aussi jamais réussi à accrocher à Icon et Draconian, pas faute d'avoir essayé. J'aime bien l'album eponyme (trouvé neuf à trois euros à la fnac, jme suis dit ça pouvait pas faire de mal) mais c'est surtout qu'il me fait penser à du Depeche Mode (non pas que je sois un gros fan de DM, encore)

cet parrallele entre PL & DM n'était pertinent que sur Host ... depuis ça n'a vraiment plus rien de commun

En remplacement de Jeff Singer, PL a recruté un poilu de chez poilu. Il s'agit de l'ancien Cradle Of Filth et mercenaire à droite à gauche, Adrian Erlandsson. Ca va saigner.


British gothic metal pioneers PARADISE LOST have enlisted Adrian Erlandsson (CRADLE OF FILTH, THE HAUNTED, AT THE GATES) as their new full-time drummer.

Guitarist Greg Mackintosh comments: "Adrian has been a friend and acquaintance for some time. After calling me to see if the drumming position was still vacant, we quickly arranged for an audition right before entering the studio to record our new album. We knew immediately that he was the man for the job. Playing the songs with him felt very natural. He is the same age as us and from a similar musical background. Unfortunately, it was too short notice to play on the new album, but everything we do from now on will have Adrian involved. We look forward to rehearsing with him when we leave the studio and to doing our first show with him in Norway on April 10th (Inferno Festival)."

Adrian Erlandsson adds: "PARADISE LOST has been one of my favourite bands since I first heard them in 1990. When my fellow BRUJERIA member Jeff Walker told me that PL were looking for a drummer, I got in contact with Greg straight away. After a few chats and e-mails, I was on my way to the audition. I had learnt 10 songs out of their last setlist, but after playing only four songs, Nick [Holmes, vocals] said, 'The job is yours if you want it.' Great success!! I look forward to growing even older with the lads and rocking hard with them live!!"

Host, j'ai pas écouté, mais l'eponyme, si ça ressemble pas à du DM, je sais plus ce que c'est, DM^^ Je retrouve les mms ambiances (les DM que je connais le plus étant Ultra et euh, l'avant dernier je crois, pochette verte et noire, j'ai oublié le nom)

The CD was recorded at Fascination Street Studios in Örebro, Sweden with producer Jens Bogren. There is so much division in the world caused by obstructing religious belief. We are all made of the same flesh and bone. What makes one religion better than the other, and would any true god allow his creation to destroy itself? The vast number of different so-called faiths around the globe just helps to strengthen my complete denial of any god and force the belief that religion is nothing more than a man-made, cash-induced fabrication to exploit a human being's natural fear of death."

... Et ça a l'air bien parti comme en témoigne As Horizons End premier extrait de l'album.

Ca semble être dans la continuité d'In Requiem... Enfin un album 2009 que j'attends avec impatience !
