Norwegian black metal band SATYRICON has set "The Age Of Nero" as the title of its new album, due on November 3 via Roadrunner Records. The CD was recorded in part at Sound City studios in Van Nuys, California, where METALLICA recently recorded its forthcoming LP. A European headlining tour will follow beginning on November 12 in Stavanger, Norway and ending in Hamburg, Germany on December 20. Opening all shows will be up-and-coming UK thrashers EVILE.

When asked about the involvement of producer Joe Barresi (TOOL, QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE) in SATYRICON's new CD, the group's vocalist Sigurd "Satyr" Wongraven recently told Norway's VG newspaper, "Joe has been a technician on practically the whole project. There might have been some misunderstandings in the Norwegian media about his role — it is me who is the producer; Joe's role is to know which buttons to push to create the sound that I want."

Speaking about the first time he played the new album for Roadrunner, Satyr said, "I had nothing to say to them. I just played the album loud, and thought that if they they don't like it, it's their problem. I am so sure about what we have done this time that I don't think about changing a single thing. The door is closed, and we are so much on the right path, that we are not turning eother left or right on this. But they thought it was really good."

SATYRICON will support CRADLE OF FILTH on a North American tour in January/February.

As previously reported, SATYRICON has recruited two new members for its live shows. The rhythm guitar is now handled by French axeman Gildas Le Pape, who has been playing black and thrash metal, as well as jazz, for quite a few years. The band's new touring bassist is Victor Brandt (Sweden) from the death metal band DOMINION and TOTALT JÄVLA MÖRKER. Victor Brandt can also be heard on the new SATYRICON EP "My Skin Is Cold".

A previously unreleased SATYRICON song, "My Skin Is Cold", is included on the band's new EP of the same name, which was issued on June 2 in most of Europe.

Euh sinon le format est bizarre non ? Tout rectangulaire (fake ? est-ce qu'il y a des fake de satyricon d'ailleurs ?)...

Je l'attends impatiemment celui-là!!!

My Skin Is Cold, le ep, est une putain de réussite, que ça soit au niveau du contenu, du packaging, de l'offre 45 tours + cd, et du prix raisonnable!

T'as plusieurs période.

Donc pour la première Dark Medieval Times. Une sorte de black ambiant avec de la flute.

Ensuite Nemesis Divina, du black assez technique, assez prise de tête, mais comme c'est l'album de référence du groupe... Cela dit les riffs sont bons et certains titres excellents comme Mother North.


Et pour la dernière période Now Diabolical, du black catchy mais assez répétitif.

Now Diabolical sur album c'est chiant, long et répétitif. En Live par contre c'est autre chose.

Dark Medieval Times est le plus abouti et le plus ambiant, un très grand album de black.

J'aime bian Diabolical perso. Mais c'est clair que c'est répétitif.
Volcano je l'ai moins écouté et avant je connais pas.

DMT c'est un des premiers disques que j'avais écouté quand je me suis mis en tête de découvrir le BM.

C'est un bon disque de black dans le genre, par contre te laisse pas avoir par Nick, il est bourré et il sait pas ce qu'il écrit, c'est pas vraiment "une sorte de black ambiant avec de la flute", c'est du black, avec des ambiances (cela dit le BM si y'a pas d'ambiances froides, macabres ou autres, c'est juste de la merde), et 2-3 zigouigouis acoustiques. C'est vrai, y'a de la flûte, et c'est pas du tout trve, d'ailleurs la transition entre les guitares grésillantes et la flûte est un peu louche, sur le titre éponyme, on dirait que c'est une erreur de montage du morceau. Bref, ce que je voulais dire, c'est que c'est pas du black ambient, t'attends pas à du SUMMONING.
