Le communiqué de Jon: Hello Dear Friends! Once again the winds of change are upon us, and this time I can say that I am very happy about the result. While out on the European tour I had several in depth discussions with many loyal Iced Earth fans. A common theme of these discussions was how much Matt is missed. I agreed with the fans that things were not the same and that it was a very special period in Iced Earth’s history. When I heard several months ago that Matt was going to be doing a project in music again, I was thinking about contacting him and seeing what his intentions were. I didn’t act on this because I was so focused on the writing of the new epic, and frankly, it just didn’t seem realistic. Well, after getting out on the road and speaking with many of you directly, I decided to call Matt and see how he was doing and if he was interested in working together again. I am proud to say that he is coming back to Iced Earth and we will be getting back to work in the studio very soon. Matt will be singing on Part 2 of the Something Wicked concept CD and we will be looking forward to getting out on tour and delivering a series of Iced Earth shows that will rival any in the history of the band. And there will be a proper DVD filmed from this period, something we’ve all been waiting for. I want you all to know that it was you who made this a reality. I have missed Matt’s presence onstage and in my personal life in a big way over the past few years, so I appreciate your honesty in our discussions. It did help me realize the decision to move forward with pursuing this. The fans have spoken and we have delivered! You true fans know that I’m a straight shooter, I say what I mean and mean what I say. And though I value your opinions greatly, you must believe that this is a decision that comes completely from the heart and is not motivated by anything other than what feels the best for Iced Earth. This is the way that things have always been dealt with, for better or for worse, but always honestly and from the heart. Tim Owens is a great and talented singer and I wish the best for him and his future on a personal and professional level. There will be more news soon as to further developments and plans. This will push back the release of Part 2 a bit. Not because we couldn’t be ready to record in time, but because of a new addition to Matt’s family in early 2008! I am very happy to announce that Iced Earth is truly BACK! Have a great holiday season. We’ll be in touch very soon with more details. Jon Schaffer |

C'était prévisible depuis que Barlow a laché les flics, mais je ne pensais pas que ça serait aussi rapide, c'est quand même super vachard pour Owens qui avait bien progressé sur album, ça confirme aussi que Schaffer est une sacré belle pute 
On verra le résultat en tout cas, une partie 1 chanté par Owens et une 2 par Barlow ça va faire bizarre quand même |

Hahahahahahahahahahaha....... Hé, Jon, steuplait viens plus nous causer d'intégrité et de "fuck trends and fuck posers". Après avoir annoncé partout que Owens était "tellement plus meilleur" que Barlow, qu'il était convaincu que c'était celui qu'il fallait pour Iced Earth. Voilà que parce que les fans chialent depuis trois ans et n'arrivent pas à se remettre du départ de l'autre geignard, il se plie à leur volonté. Et Owens se retrouve Gros-Jean comme devant. Comme avec le Priest, il se fait remplacer par le chanteur légendaire (bon, même si Barlow n'est pas Halford) du groupe qui rentre au bercail. C'était évidemment hautement prévisible mais ça me fait quand même de la peine pour le petit Timmy. Remarquez, il en profitera peut-être pour trouver un autre groupe et chanter sur de bons albums à partir de maintenant. EDIT : ah oui, j'attends avec impatience le réenregistrement de Something Wicked Part 2 pour effacer toute trace d'Owens dont Schaffer parlera dans six mois comme d'un "simple intérimaire et qu'il avait toujours pensé rendre le poste à Barlow qui est la vraie voix d'IE et blablabla". Ce type est un nullos. |

hahahahahahahahahaha ! (bis) Sacré Jon, fidèle à lui même (un gros con, quoi). Je ne saurais trop conseiller à Ripper de se concentrer sur son propore groupe, après tout beyond Fear était pltôt pas mal (saoulant, mais pas mal). |

Voilà ma réaction quand j'ai vu le titre. Ce n'est pas surprenant comme dit noise mais très rapide. Du coup je suis un peu dégouté de pas avoir vu IE avec Ripper il y a un mois (bonjour l'ambiance en backstage...). Je me réécouterais Beyond Fear qui était un album bien sympathique. |

Ripper avait quand même assuré au concert et s'était même déchiré sur la fin d'un titre, ce qui avait d'ailleurs laissé perplexe le vieux Jon. Il s'agit peut-être d'un commun accord. Sinon, je suis assez content de la nouvelle. Et ripper peut effectivement continuer avec Beyond fear, fort d'un premier album tout à fait honorable. |

Et Pyramaze qui devait sortir un album début 2008 avec Barlow. Va-t-il honorer son contrat avant de rejoindre Iced Earth ou va-t-il les laisser tomber ? Ou encore mener les 2 de front ? (perso Pyramaze j'en un peu rien à foutre) |

C'est une bonne nouvelle. Mais je suis bien déçu malgré tout, Tim est excellent sur Framming armaggedon et je pensais qu'il s'était bien intégré au groupe. La pilule serait mieux passé si son éviction avait eu lieu après TGB. Quant à Beyond Fear... Je préferais voir Tim s'investir dans des groupes plus intérressants, quitte à changer tout les 2 albums... |

Non Barlow fera les deux : Vocalist Matt Barlow, who has just rejoined ICED EARTH, will remain a member of the Danish metal band PYRAMAZE, according to the latter band's keyboardist Jonah Weingarten. PYRAMAZE entered the studio on October 1 in Haderslev, Denmark to begin recording the follow-up to to "Legend of the Bone Carver". Barlow joined PYRAMAZE as the replacement for Lance King who left the band in November 2006. |

Je ne sais pas pourquoi vous trouvez que Shafer n'est pas un mec intègre, au contraire, je n'ai jamais vu plus fidèle à lui-même. Malgré tout, je pense que ce retour sera bénéfique à IE qui n'a pas réussi à faire grand chose de bien avec Owen (déjà qu'avec Barlow ils avaient du mal). Par contre c'est clair que c'est con pour Ripper, l'intérimaire du metal. |
