MelodicRock.com is reporting that VAN HALEN will likely tour in 2007 with David Lee Roth as frontman. Citing "information from a highly placed source," the site states that negotiations are currently underway to reunite VAN HALEN with their original frontman for a tour in 2007 that will take in America and possibly other territories. It is not presently clear if VAN HALEN's upcoming touring plans will include bassist Michael Anthony, who has apparently had a falling out with guitarist Eddie Van Halen. In a recent appearance on "The Howard Stern Show", Eddie hinted that the bassist slot would be filled by his son Wolfgang, although this has not yet been officially confirmed. |

ben pleure : TMZ.com reports that VAN HALEN has officially hired 15-year-old Wolfgang Van Halen — the son of guitarist Eddie Van Halen and estranged wife Valerie Bertinelli, and nephew of drummer Alex Van Halen — as the new bassist for the band. Wolfgang replaces longtime bassist Michael Anthony, who left the band earlier this year. VAN HALEN spokesperson Janie Liszewski tells TMZ.com that Wolfgang, known as "Wolfie," has already joined his dad and uncle for rehearsals in the studio. Wolfie played dates with his father during the band's 2004 tour, and the song "316" on 1991's "For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge" was named for Wolfie's birth date that same year. According to TMZ.com, the band is still without a lead singer, despite rumors that David Lee Roth might rejoin. |

G4's TheFeed reports that Eddie Van Halen's spokesperson Janie Liszewski has revealed that VAN HALEN is currently writing and rehearsing for a summer 2007 tour. In addition, Liszewski has confirmed that Eddie's son Wolfgang has officially been named the new bassist in the band. "Yes, I can confirm this story in the respect of Wolfgang being the new bass player for the band and yes he has been in the studio with his dad and uncle rehearsing and writing for an upcoming summer 2007 tour," Liszewski exclusively told TheFeed about the article that was first posted on TMZ.com last week. "Wolfgang most certainly has inherited the Van Halen musical genius gene. At 15 years of age his knowledge, understanding, skill, and command of multiple instruments is impressive." It's Official: DAVID LEE ROTH Rejoins VAN HALEN - Feb. 2, 2007 David Lee Roth has officially returned as the singer for VAN HALEN and will join the rest of the band on a North American tour this summer. The 40-date trek will mark the first time since 1984 that original VH frontman Roth will perform with Eddie and Alex Van Halen along with new bassist, Wolfgang Van Halen (Eddie's son). According to a press release issued today (Feb. 2) by Janie Liszewski from High Profile Media, "VAN HALEN fans can look forward to legendary high intensity performances, featuring a setlist of the most iconic hits ever produced by America's premiere rock band." Eddie Van Halen said in a statement, "I am very excited to get back to the core of what made VAN HALEN." As BLABBERMOUTH.NET first reported on January 31, Rhino Records has set a March 13 release date for VAN HALEN's "Best Of (1978-1984)", the first single-disc compilation exclusively spotlighting 1978-1984, the group's original David Lee Roth era. The album, which coincides with VAN HALEN's March 2007 induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, contains over an hour of remastered classics from the albums "Van Halen", "Van Halen II", "Women And Children First", "Fair Warning", "Diver Down", and "1984". Highlights include "Runnin' With The Devil", "Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love", and "And The Cradle Rock". Also featured are "Everybody Wants Some", "So This Is Love" and "Oh, Pretty Woman". The CD booklet will contain rarely seen photos and liner notes. According to MelodicRock.com, VAN HALEN — featuring David Lee Roth on vocals — will likely play two dates in Las Vegas at The Pearl at The Palms Casino on April 27-28 before kicking off a full North American tour sometime late spring/early summer. |

Ca aurait pu être crédible si ils avaient fait ça y'a 15 ans, mais là, DLR a quand même pas mal perdu, je le vois mal faire le con sur les vieux titres comme autrefois, il n'a plus le même panache 
Ils avaient déjà essayé en plus une reformation, avec les inédits du best of en 96 (je les ai jamais écouté, ça vaut quoi ?), mais ça n'a pas duré. Après le coup foireux avec Sammy récemment, ça va devenir pire que Trust cette histoire. |

Dans l'absolu, ils ne sont pas mauvais, on peut même les trouver bons mais il est clair qu'ils n'ont rien d'inoubliable non plus (j'ai d'ailleurs oublié les titres de ces deux compos et j'ai la flemme d'aller les rechercher). |

Je suis assez étonné de cette reformation vu la manière dont la reformation de 96 s'était passée mais étant un grand fan de la période Roth ca me réjouit quoiqu'il se passe. Je sais pas si vous avez vu les vidéos d'Eddie au Namm 2007 mais il continue à bien gérer au niveau gratte malgré son apparence un peu loqueteuse (d'ailleurs à quand un album instru d'Eddie, ca pourrait être énorme). Je pense qu'il faut pas s'attendre à un 80 return mais ca peut être très intéressant |

Lu dans les news sur VS : Le groupe VAN HALEN (Hard Rock - USA) a pratiquement terminé son futur album. Un single devrait sortir avant la fin de l'année 2010 et l'album au premier trimestre 2011. |
