Le chanteur Jorn Lande a quitté le groupe Masterplan ...

Citation:
Melodic metallers MASTERPLAN have parted ways with vocalist Jorn Lande (ex-YNGWIE MALMSTEEN/ARK) due to "musical differences." During the songwriting process for the band's third album, it became increasingly apparent that the members of the group had different visions and plans for the band's musical direction. While Jorn wanted MASTERPLAN to follow a more melodic path, the rest of the band wanted to return to the metallic roots of their debut album.

Commented drummer Uli Kusch (ex-HELLOWEEN): "We are not really happy about Jorn's decision [to leave the band], but on the other side it doesn't make sense to continue if the ideas are that different. The music would suffer from it and the music is why we are doing it. We wish Jorn a successful future and want to thank him for everything he did for us. It was a great and interesting time!"

The band are currently searching for a new singer. "There are already some possibilities that might be interesting for us, but nothing is decided yet," Uli explained. "We hope that we can already present the new singer on the gigs we are [confirmed to play later in the] year. And for sure there won't be any changes in the musical style of MASTERPLAN. We are currently working on the songs."

MASTERPLAN's sophomore full-length album, "Aeronautics", came out in January 2005 via AFM Records. Lande released his fourth solo album, "The Duke", earlier in the year through AFM. The CD, which entered the Norwegian national album at position No. 54, was produced by Lande and PAGAN'S MIND guitarist Jörn Viggo Lofstad, and was mixed at Jailhouse Studios in Denmark by Tommy Hansen.

Vocalist Jorn Lande will play his final four shows with MASTERPLAN in July and August. The dates are as follows:

Jul. 14 - Masters of Rock - Vizovice, CZR
Aug. 06 - Monsters of Rock – Varna, BUL
Aug. 08 – Lokersefeesten - BEL
Aug. 17 - RagnaRock Festival - Oslo, NOR

Lande announced his departure from MASTERPLAN in early May due to "musical differences." During the songwriting process for the band's third album, it became increasingly apparent that the members of the group had different visions and plans for the band's musical direction. While Jorn wanted MASTERPLAN to follow a more melodic path, the rest of the band wanted to return to the metallic roots of their debut album.

MASTERPLAN guitarist Roland Grapow and drummer Uli Kusch (both ex-HELLOWEEN) recently completed the first songwriting session for the band's upcoming CD. Thirteen songs are in progress, according to a posting on Kusch's web site.

MASTERPLAN are currently searching for a replacement singer.

Jorn recently released fourth solo album, "The Duke". The CD — which entered the Norwegian national album at position No. 54 — was produced by Lande and PAGAN'S MIND guitarist Jörn Viggo Lofstad, and was mixed at Jailhouse Studios in Denmark by Tommy Hansen.

Jorn will lead a very special "all-star" performance during his headline set at this year's ProgPower USA festival, set to take place in

Le monsieur a besoin de thunes. Il sort donc un album avec des vieux titres à lui réenregistrés ou remixés. Et puis dans la foulée un album de reprises qu'il avait enregitrées il y a longtemps et jamais sorties.

Frontiers Records has announced the release of two separate JORN records entitled "Unlocking The Past" and "The Gathering" on January 27, 2007.

The concept behind this dual release is to satisfy the fans' request for more material and to make some of Jorn's earlier work more available.

"With 'The Gathering'," the Norwegian hard rock vocalist says, "I'm removing dust from some of my earlier recordings because I believe some of these songs deserve a second chance in history. Some tracks have been rerecorded from scratch, simply because I felt they would sound better with new arrangements and approach. Others have been remixed and have this way been given a 'face lift' due to the fact that the original recordings didn't sound that great productionwise. All songs have been digitally mastered by my good friend Tommy Hansen and I hope that this album will please my old as well as my newer fans."

"Unlocking the Past" includes some previously unreleased cover songs that were originally considered to be "leftovers" or additional bonus tracks for previous JORN albums. Many of them were never included on any official release. Some brand new covers were also recorded specifically for this CD. Dust has been brushed from these recordings; the remix of "Burn", "The Day the Earth Caught Fire" (which originally appeared on JORN's solo debut album "Starfire"), and the remastered version of "On and On" (which was supposed to appear on a MILLENIUM covers album a few years back), complete the track listing of the album.

"I'm very excited about releasing these songs from the treasure chest," Jorn says.

The track listing on the two albums will be as follows:

"Unlocking the Past"

01. On And On (MSG)
02. Fool For Your Loving (WHITESNAKE)
03. Cold Sweat (THIN LIZZY)
