J'ai un souvenir très laxatif de Dog eat dog. Dirty rotten filthy stinking rich était à mon sens quelque peu surestimé (à deux ou trois titres près), le meilleur album du groupe pour moi étant Cherry pie.

MTM Music has announced the signing of WARRANT, one of the most popular and successful rock bands of the late '80s and early '90s. The band was formed in the mid-'80s and its first official lineup featured vocalist Jani Lane, guitarist Erik Turner, guitarist Joey Allen, bass player Jerry Dixon and drummer Steven Sweet. In 1989, the band released their classic debut "Dirty Rotten Filthy Stinking Rich", which immediately entered the charts and launched the hit singles "Down Boys" and the power ballads "Sometimes She Cries" and "Heaven", which climbed up to No. 2 in the U.S. charts. Au début cette news m'a intéressé vu que je suis fan de Warrant. Mais bon, Warrant sans Jani Lane, j'ai un peu de mal à imaginer. Pas que ce soit le plus grand chanteur de tous les temps, mais à l'instar de Bret Michaels dans Poison, c'est un excellent songwriter. Il est le compositeur de tous les hits du groupe. J'ai donc l'impression qu'un album de Warrant sans lui sera bien fade.

J'ai un collegue fan de maiden et de trucs plus heavy que warrant qui y etait et qui etait également dégouté par la reaction du public... il trouvait lui aussi le show excellent...

il ont joué 30 minutes à tout peter si ma memoire est bonne ... je me souviens qu'ils avaient axé leur set sur des morceaux plus heavy, ils avaient joué pas mal de morceaux de Dog Eat Dog d'ailleurs

Jamais aimé ce groupe, contrairement aux autres groupes cités dans le 1er post. Je ne leur trouvais aucun charisme non plus.

"Cherry pie" est en effet un excellent album (leur meilleur pour moi aussi) mais "dog eat dog" comporte vraiment de très bons morceaux notamment celui où il y a une sorte d'opera... Je ne sais plus le titre.

Dirty rotten filthy stinking rich était à mon sens quelque peu surestimé (à deux ou trois titres près), le meilleur album du groupe pour moi étant Cherry pie. parenthese : oui oui, pour White Lion c'est aussi ce que je pensais, mais j'ai vu le groupe cet été et j'écoute leur nouveau double live et le guitariste est assez excellent il reprend d'ailleurs les merveilleux solos de vitto assez respectueusement ! bref, ca vaut pas le white lion originel, mais ce le fait bien quand meme !!

Et bien contre toute attente, l'album est bon. Sans surprises, le style s'approche de celui des 2 premiers albums. Pas ici de grunge ni de ultra heavy à la Dog Eat Dog. Du bon hard US, très inspiré par... Warrant. Par moment,c'est de l'auto-plagiat au niveau des riffs. Mais ça ne pose pas réellement de problèmes. Sans avoir la qualité de Cherry Pie, l'album s'écoute d'une traite et avec plaisir, et le nouveau chanteur assure dans un registre assez similaire à celui de Jani lane, même si ce n'est pas tout à fait le même timbre. Effort convaincant, à l'instar de celui de Tesla y'a 2 ans...

je ressors ce vieux sujet, j'ai enfin ecouté le disque, ça sert de faire des chroniques pour PW vraiment, , tout ça pour dire que j'ai trouvé ça excellent du début a la fin, du bon hard rock un peu FM qui bouge le cul et prend pas la tete, tres bonne came
