Esperons que cela soit plus inspiré que Liberty or death qui m'avait assez ennuyé

German power metallers GRAVE DIGGER have issued the following update:

"We are back from our first songwriting session from the Graveyard studios in Holland. The chemistry with Thilo was really cool and we were very creative that seven song structures have come out. METAL. Now we just have to file in these ideas before we go back to the Graveyard studio in April again.

"With the new album we will finish the concept of the 'Trilogy' which we started with 'Rheingold' and continued with 'Liberty or Death'.

"Next week we are visiting the U.S. for our promo shows in New York. As far we know, the advance sales are running very well and therefore we are planning to play in the 'wild west' as well.

"We are also on stage in South America and they will stretch from July 29, 2008 through August 4, 2008. Confirmed shows are up till now August 2 in Sao Paulo at Citibank Hall."

y avait un rapport entre Rheingold et Liberty or Death ?

Il parait, ouais. Mais perso, j'ai jamais vu le rapport et ils se sont jamais expliqué là-dessus, alors...

Rheingold, c'est une adaptation en plastique de l'Anneau du Nibelung, et LOD un machin thématique sur le combat pour la liberté. J'ai du mal à faire le lien.

Sinon, j'attends le bazar avec anxiété. Ca fait 3 albums que le groupe est en-dessous de tout. Si Thilo fout vraiment la main à la pâte, ça va peut-être les booster un poil (ils disent sur leur site qu'il est "well motivated and has loads of ideas").

On va bien voir, mais je me fais pas d'illusions.

Rheingold était assez sympa.

Par contre, tous leur concept albums sont en plastique. Grave Digger c'est vraiment le niveau zéro du concept album. Je ne parle pas de la qualité de la zic, mais de l'adaptation de l'histoire, des lyrics etc...globalement c'est nase.

Heart of darkness............Qu'il est loin ce superbe et excellent album. Très inspiré à l'époque. Bien plus qu'aujourd'hui.
Heureusement, le groupe a sorti "the Grave digger" il n'y a pas si si longtemps.

Ca avance... pas vite.

Last week we were at Principal Studio to go over the songs for our new album. We changed some stuff here and there.
Now the songs are on the bench and only waiting to be recorded."

L'album sortira le 9 Janvier et s'intitulera Ballads of a Hangman.
On nous promet quelque chose de plus rapide et plus agressif que les 2 derniers bouzins, et on aura droit à une ballade couinée en duo par Chris et "une célèbre chanteuse Américaine".

The song comes off the group's forthcoming album, "Ballads Of A Hangman", which is scheduled for a January 9, 2009 release via Austria's Napalm Records. The "Pray" single will precede the album on November 28. The group's frontman Chris Boltendahl states, "We are very happy with the result. I think it is one of the hardest records we ever did. But don't get irritated, [the 'Pray' video] is the extended single version. The album is a 'bit' harder than the single."

Petiote reprise de Motorhead en prime. Fidèle à l'originale forcément avec un Chris qui se rapproche de Lemmy niveau chant.
Sinon, rien de bien nouveau, Pray est un titre plutôt mid tempo avec un refrain assez accrocheur, mais ça n'a rien de bien transcendant malheureusement.
