Greetings to all…

We have taken all of our recording equipment to a house in England where we have built a studio and begun the first of two records to be released this year. The recording has been going very well.

This first record is a semi-acoustic recording of many of our most loved older tracks. This will be released on Peaceville records. The working title is ‘temporary peace.’

The songs to be included on ‘temporary peace’ are:

Angelica, leave no trace, inner silence, one last goodbye, are you there, fragile dreams, a natural disaster, temporary peace and flying.

The record will be a substantial work, arranged by Danny and performed and produced by the band, recorded and engineered by our own Les Smith, who was responsible for the recordings of ‘everything’ and the other new songs released online last year.

This will also feature the cello of Dave Wesling, who previously toured with Vincent and Danny in 2004 and is featured on the DVD ‘a moment in time.’

It may also include a reworking of one or two classic tracks from the very early days of anathema.

In late winter/early spring, immediately following the recording of this semi-acoustic album, we will enter a studio to record the next full length anathema album, which be produced by Anathema and mixed by Steven Wilson, independently from a record company.

Upon completion, the new album will be licensed around the world, giving us artistic and creative control and keeping the rights to the music in our own hands.

All being well, you will see the release of two records from anathema this year. A semi acoustic classic tracks album, and a full length new album.

Kscope has set an August 25 release date for the new semi-acoustic album from UK atmospheric rock band ANATHEMA entitled "Hindsight". The LP will be available to download from August 18.

"Hindsight" features old and new favourites from the band's career, with new arrangements utilizing acoustic, electrical and orchestral instruments to construct the deep, emotional landscapes ANATHEMA have become renowned for.

This album will also feature the beautiful cello playing of Dave Wesling from the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. A close friend of the band, Dave previously toured with the band in 2004 and is featured on the DVD "A Moment In Time". The record has been arranged, recorded, performed and produced solely by the band.

ANATHEMA has been at the forefront of the UK rock/metal movement for many years. They began their journey as pioneers of melodic heavy music, influencing a myriad of bands to follow them, before outgrowing all genres and limitations as they fearlessly explored new territory and new ways to express feeling through sound.

ANATHEMA has gained a sizable worldwide following and much critical acclaim. Having played hundreds of shows in over 30 countries on their "Natural Disaster" tour, they are currently working on the follow up to "Hindsight", an album of brand new material entitled "Horizons". This is set to be an album beyond all expectations.

J'ai acheté hier Hindssigh et je ne le regrette pas, les compos du groupe sont taillés pour l'acoustique, ça donne le frisson à a chaque titre, Arer you there est une pure beauté ainsi transformée, vivement conseillé

le plus dur, c'est pas de leur donner du fric, ça reste de trouver l'album ... entre le sempiternel" c'est en commande ..." et autres "Ana quoi ?", j'ai l'impression d'etre entouré d'handicapés du CD ...

Y en avait 1 au virgin de Dunkerque, j'ai sauté dessus comme un vieux crevard en manque de teen

Oui marqué comme le nouveau single, bonne petite chanson, on verra si elle reste sur l'album qu'ils vont enfin commencer à enregistrer

Je ne connaissais que " A natural disaster" (j'ai aussi "Alternative 4" mais je ne l'ai pas encore vraiment écouté) Je viens d'acheter, je le trouve très bon mais je ne savais pas que c'était un album de reprises d'anciens titres.

En tout cas, ce que propose ce groupe mérite définitivement que je m'y penche plus avant!

Très bel album que cet acoustique d'auto-reprises, de superbes arrangements et des mélodies mélancoliques à la pelle !

Moi ils me les brisent les anathema en ce moment.
Ils devraient arreter de se la peter comme ça.

je ne vois pas en qoui ils se la petent ... ils sortent un CD alimentaire pour pouvoir payer l'enregistrement de l'album ... ça me va ...
