 Quelques p'tites news Prog...
Vu sur http://www.dprp.net/ :
" GLASS HAMMER: returns with their most ambitious project to date. The Inconsolable Secret is a two-disc concept album featuring the classic NEARfest line-up performing symphonic-prog at its finest. According to Bassist Steve Babb: "Glass Hammer has redefined the epic! We’ve composed this album to be a seamless meld of prog-band, choir and orchestra. I don’t think anyone has ever worked this hard on an album before!" Art legend Roger Dean has joined forces with Glass Hammer to create all new cover art for the project. The band expects to release The Inconsolable Secret in July, after unveiling the album at NEARfest 2005. Check the band’s newly redesigned website for news and more."
" KAIPA: News just in that the latest Kaipa album entitled Mindrevolutions will be released on 30th May 2005 through InsideOut / SPV. This follows up their highly acclaimed Keyholder from 2003.

Tracklist: 1. The Dodger (8:09) 2. Electric Leaves (4:13) 3. Shadows Of Time (6:50) 4. A Pair Of Sunbeams (5:19) 5. Mindrevolutions (25:47) 6. Flowing Free (3:53) 7. Last Free Indian (7:27) 8. Our Deepest Inner Shore (4:59) 9. Timebomb (4:32) 10. Remains Of The Day (8:02)
Mainly written by keyboardist Lundin but sprinkled with those typical Stolt melodies and lyrics, Mindrevolutions is a testimony that Sweden is at the very front when it comes to well crafted, classic and timeless prog rock of today. A feast for the 70’s nostalgia as well as any adventurous teenager who might crave more for the complex symphonic structures and art rock shaped and developed by bands such as King Crimson, Gentle Giant, Yes, Focus, ELP, as well newcomers like Transatlantic, Flower Kings, Dream Theater, Porcupine Tree, Tool or Radiohead.. Also later on this year there will be a CD box set which will include remastered versions of the three first Kaipa albums plus two CD's featuring unreleased material and live recordings. This will include several demo recordings from 1974 which have never been published. Also include is a comprehensive booklet with old photos taken by the members themselves, personal comments and reminiscences."

Sinon vu sur http://www.dprp.net/news/index.php (comme d'hab) :
" JADIS: The current working title of the band's sixth studio album is Comfort Zone. If all goes well the album will be released early 2006 on Inside Out. Gary Chandler and drummer Steve Christey are currently in the studio with producer Rob Aubrey to record the drumtracks."

1. After 2. Volte-Face 3. Conceiving You 4. Second Life Syndrome 5. Artificial Smile 6. I Turned You Down 7. Reality Dream III 8. Dance With The Shadow 9. Before"
" ECHOLYN: In News Issue 32 back at the beginning of August we brough you news about Echolyn's up and coming release. We can now confirm that melodic-symphonic progband Echolyn have now released their new album The End is Beautiful after a three year wait to follow up their highly praised Mei album. This is what Echolyn say:
This latest album is an eight track album written mainly around driving rhythms laid down by drummer Paul Ramsey giving the songs an apparent extra dose of power. Blaring organ leads, acrobatic guitar melodies and multi-part harmonies also abound on The End is Beautiful". This album also marks the return of bass player Tom Hyatt as a full-time member."

Vu toujours au même endroit ( http://www.dprp.net/) :
" NEAL MORSE: the 'secret' Neal Morse album is done and will be released on November 1st, bearing the title ?. This album being secret and all, details are still very sketchy on the official Neal Morse website, where you can find clues to work out the line-up and lyrical concept. However, you can always trust a website like Amazon to spoil the fun and list the album cover and tracklisting in their pre-release section, so who are we to keep it from you? Well, actually, we're not that clever, we nicked it off the Neal Morse messageboard.
01 - Temple Of The Living God 02 - Another World 03 - Outsider 04 - Sweet Elation 05 - In The Fire 06 - Solid As The Sun 07 - Glory Of The Lord 08 - Outside Looking In 09 - 12 10 - Deliverance 11 - Inside His Presence 12 - Temple Of The Living God The Inside Out Website has the following to say: An air of mystery surrounded the new project as Morse teased fans with brief excerpts from the developing album via his website. Fans were challenged to guess who might actually be contributing to the album with the selected sound bites. Morse expands on this by saying, "I had the idea to make some kind of ‘secret album’ with a few friends so I wanted to get fans in the right mood. ? deals with what I believe to be the mysteries of God. It’s my goal to make people think about that and hopefully touch their hearts with my music".
As with previous albums, Morse plays the majority of instruments himself as well as singing and producing the album. Drumming sensation Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater) and bassist Randy George however return as Morse’s permanent rhythm section as well as integrating into more creative aspects of the music. "Both of them helped to co-write The Outsider and sections from 12 and Deliverance. Not only that, they also proved to be very helpful with the arrangement of the whole puzzle" says Morse. Neal makes reference to specific sections on the album because he wants this album to be seen as a whole piece rather than as individual songs. The twelve parts of the album can be selected separately on the CD merely for convenience.
Aside from Portnoy and George, Morse invited some high profile friends to lend their talents to ? including, Dream Theater keyboardist Jordan Rudess, saxophonist Mark Leniger, who was previously heard on the “Testimony” album and guitarists Steve Hackett, Alan Morse and Roine Stolt.
"Musically, this album is more concise" explains Morse. "We’ve left out the complicated stuff and designed it more like a band project. That’s why the guest artists’ performances are in the foreground more. Their individual touches are what make this album unique". "
Excuze me for the engliche...
" PORTNOY/WILSON/ÅKERFELDT: A rumour of three prog(metal) heavyweights Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater), Steven Wilson (Porcupine Tree) and Mikael Åkerfeldt (Opeth) doing something together started on the Mike Portnoy forum after a fan had bumped into Åkerfeldt in Sweden. The rumour was unexpectedly quickly confirmed when Mike Portnoy himself posted the following: "I haven't read through the rest of this thread (I'm at the airport getting ready to leave for Helsinki!) but the title caught my eye as I thought perhaps something had been leaked/announced - as myself, Mikael and Steven have already spoken several times about doing a project together.... I think it's just a matter of when at this point...."
