Therion est prêt à dévoiler son nouveau projet pharaonique "Beloved Antichrist":


"When 15 year old prodigy Christofer Johnsson founded THERION as a death metal band in 1987, little did he know that exactly 30 years later he would put the final touches to a project that will go down in history as symphonic metal’s most ambitious release. While ‘metal operas’ are no longer an unusual creation, this term will forever receive a new meaning on January 26th, 2018, when the curtain opens for Johnsson’s lifelong creation: »Beloved Antichrist« is the title of his spectacular brainchild, consisting of 3 full-length CDs and is more than just a concept album, but a complete rock opera with multiple chapters, unveiling a sweeping story partly based on and inspired by Vladímir Soloviov "A Short Tale Of The Antichrist".
With an incredible total of 29 different roles and characters, whoall required a unique voice, THERION hired not only a big choir, but also 29 vocalists to bring the epic story to life. With long-time collaborators like Thomas Vikström, Lori Lewis and Chiara Malvestiti, fans will hear the classical THERION vibe but also be able to drown in a magical maelstrom of many new as well as familiar voices.
Divided into several chapters, the opera reaches a full length of 3 and a half hours and THERION are currently working on the possibility of bringing the entire production to the stage. And while this monumental undertaking still simmers away in the Swedish production halls, the band has announced a pan-European tour where they will perform some of their new masterpieces live in a classical concert setting. Support comes from Russia’s symphonic metallists IMPERIAL AGE and Germany's NULL POSITIV.

n February 2, symphonic metal pioneers THERION will finally release Christofer Johnsson's monumental brainchild "Beloved Antichrist", a sweeping rock opera loosely inspired by Vladímir Soloviov's "A Short Tale Of The Antichrist". The entire piece reaches an impressive length of three hours. The dramatic and epic opus comes to life through 27 different character roles, performed by long-time band members like Thomas Vikström, Lori Lewis and Chiara Malvestiti, amongst many others. The band will unveil the first excerpt from "Beloved Antichrist" in single form before Christmas — and today, they present the cover artwork designed by Thomas Ewerhart, as well as the track listing.

46 morceaux, putain de bordel. Meme pour un fan comme moi, ce sera forcément l'indigestion, faudra y aller mollo... Qui sait, peut etre le père Johnsson a été inspiré entre les reprises franchouillardes et le hard 70s qui l'ont également occupé ces dernières années.
Ces derniers temps, j'ai redonné une chance au dernier vrai album de Therion, Sitra Ahra. A sa sortie je l'avais acheté mais finalement peu écouté, déçu. En fait il est correct, car meme si 2-3 titres sont anecdotiques, d'autres sont excellents. Inégal en qualité de compo, mais varié également.

Allez j'ai envie d'y croire!

J'aime beaucoup cette pochette.

Sans etre incroyable, le morceau tient la route. Le son est assez épuré, et les orchestrations bien intégrées. Je crois que je vais plus rien écouter avant la sortie...

Ouais ça sonne bien mais ce sera dur d'enquiller les 3 cd à la suite...

3h10 j'ai lu dans Rock Hard!

C'est quand même particulier... Ce qui est à la fois un atout et un risque. Je pense qu'il faut voir tout ça dans l'ambiance de l'album.

Bon, j'ai écouté les 3. J'en peux plus, ça va etre énorme... Oui j'aime me monter le bourrichon.
En plus je suis préparé aux orchestrations de partout avec le dernier Orphaned Land.

En tout cas, METALLIAN le descend, ils écrivent un truc du style que l'album est très décevant compte tenu du talent du groupe. Ils lui ont mis une sale note Je vais donc attendre d'écouter l'album entièrement pour me faire mon avis.

je m'en fout de l'avis de metallian, je l'acheterais (l'album) quand même.

Metallian je me méfie, c'est le genre a chroniquer après un tiers d'écoute

Alors quelqu'un l'a écouté entièrement ?
J'ai commencé à l'écouter sur Spotify, j'ai entendu le tiers uniquement pour le moment, mais ça m'a donné l'impression d'entendre un groupe moyen essayant de copier THERION. J'écouterai quand même entièrement car je suis un grand fan de THERION depuis qu'ils ont sorti "Theli". Mais je rejoins l'avis du journaliste de Metallian sur ce coup là ... du moins pour le moment.
Il y a autre chose qui me déplait aussi : je trouve que Thomas VIKSTROM chante assez mal sur cet album, alors que sur "Sitra Ahra" (2010), je trouvais qu'il chantait bien.

Pareil je n'ai écouté que le 1er cd. Pour moi c'est du THERION pur jus. Mais, c'est vraiment un "opera Metal", un vrai, pas un pseudo (genre Avantasia and co). Et je pense qu'on est tout simplement très proche du suicide artistico-commercial. C'est ambitieux certes, mais je l'imagine très mal toucher sa cible cet album, c'est leur album le moins accessible qu'ils aient fait, alors qu'à la base il se veut toucher un public plus large que celui des metalleux.

Si on n'est que "proche" du suicide artistico-commercial, c'est un net progrès par rapport aux Fleurs du Mal.
Pour l'avoir écouté (une fois, je ne pense pas que je recommencerai), c'est super chiant, ouais. Bon, après, je trouve aussi l'opéra chiant de manière générale, donc je ne suis pas forcément le public visé.

Effectivement, c'est chiant.
Avec des bons trucs, mais chiant quand même.

Qui va se farcir ce pavé d'une traite? Ca n'a aucun sens un album pareil.

Je les vois jeudi, on aura sans doutes quelques titres

Sinon je dois le chroniquer et c'est pas simple
