Sony Music has set a May 11 release date (one day earlier internationally) for the limited deluxe expanded edition of JUDAS PRIEST's classic 1980 album "British Steel".

"British Steel" was the sixth studio album by JUDAS PRIEST. Released on April 14, 1980 and produced by Tom Allom, "British Steel" was recorded at Tittenhurst Park in England — a mansion owned at the time by former THE BEATLES member Ringo Starr, and previously owned by John Lennon and Yoko Ono.

"British Steel" has long been considered one of metals all-time classics. It was with this release that PRIEST truly broke through to the masses, with a pair of tracks that have become fixtures on rock radio — the enduring anthems "Breaking The Law" and "Living After Midnight". But like all classic albums, there is not a single weak track detected on "British Steel", as evidenced by such standouts as the perennial concert highlight "Metal Gods", as well as "Rapid Fire", "Grinder", "United" and "The Rage", among others.

In 2009 JUDAS PRIEST performed the "British Steel" album in its entirety for the first time ever as part of their 30th anniversary USA tour. A filmed recording of the show on the August 17, 2009 at the Seminole Hard Rock in Hollywood, Florida will be included in both the limited-edition deluxe and deluxe releases. The show was captured in front of a vibrant American audience and in full 5.1 surround and stereo sound. Known for their high-energy and spectacular stage shows the band played the entire "British Steel" album in sequence as well as a number of other well-know tracks from their catalog.

The live concert was mixed in stereo and 5.1 by the original "British Steel" producer Tom Allom. In addition, the DVD will include the bonus content of "The Making Of British Steel", a 30-minute doc featuring the 4 original band members. This new DVD brings the live PRIEST experience like no other live recording.

The deluxe expanded edition will come in two formats:

* Limited edition deluxe three-disc to include original album, live DVD and live CD
* Deluxe two-disc to include original album plus live DVD

Ils ont bien observé leurs petits camarades de chez Iron Maiden. Ça marche, donc ils font pareil.

Sauf que Maiden, ils ont beau multiplier les live et best-of (encore que, c'est pas KISS), on n'est pas obligés de racheter un album qu'on a déjà avec.

S'ils sortent le live seul, j'le prendrai, mais sinon, ça fait chier.

Oui, là c'est clairement du foutage de gueule, et Maiden n'a jamais été à ce niveau. Je ne l'acheterais pas. Pas trop grave vu les performance live d'halford, il n'est plus que l'ombre de lui même sur scène.

Autant je trouvais A Touch of Evil Live inutile, autant le live de la tournée British Steel m'intéresse beaucoup. J'ai matté pas mal de vidéos youtube de cette tournée et ça m'a mechamment donné envie de voir un concert entier de cette tournée. ça serait pas mal d'y avoir droit en Europe d'ailleurs, pourquoi pas au Hellfest !?

Je n'ai pas encore acheté le disque d'origine et le live m'intéresse.
Alors si c'est pas hors de prix, pourquoi pas.

J'ai peut-être mal compris, mais le live de l'édition deluxe, ce n'est pas la tournée British Steel mais la tournée de 2009 où ils jouaient British Steel en entier, ce qui est beaucoup moins intéressant (et avec Prophecy, You've got, Freewheel et Hell Partol, j'ai un petit doute).

Ouais ben en fait c'est bien de la tournée 2009 où ils reprenaient British Steel en entier dont je parlais.

Ouais Halford doit encore être assez performant sur ces morceaux vu qu'ils sont quasi parlé. Tant qu'il évite les horribles screamings plus qu'appuyé par sa boite d'écho, ça peut encore le faire.
