Je sais pas ce que vaut le dernier, je ne suis pas un fin connaisseur de Saxon, je n'ai que quelques albums, mais tant que ça reste bon, pourquoi pas?

Le dernier était très bon, leur meilleur album depuis un bail, une excellente surpris. évidemment ça ne vaut pas ossian

Un album honnête. Après trois merdes galactiques, c'est un peu rassurant.

Le dernier était bon, mais en réalité on s'en fout.

Ce qui compte, c'est que SAXON continue à avoir des prétextes pour tourner, car croyez-moi, sur scène c'est la méga-claque !!!

Faut relativiser quand même.

Je les ai vu que deux fois en concert. La 1er fois pour la tournée nwobhm, à l'élysée, c'était vraiment super : set list en béton, groupe qui avait l'envie, une pêche d'enfer, des musiciens tous souriants, tous à fond, devant un public réduit de passioné, vraiment terrible.

Par contre sur la tournée Inner sanctum, le groupe était en pilotage automatique. Seul Biff et Carter, le bassiste, était dans le show, les autres assuraient le strict minimum, notamment Quinn qui à l'air quand même d'en avoir plus rien à foutre (alors qu'il était au top au show de 2005).

SAXON fans have a lot of things to look forward to in the coming months: to start off with, the British metal legends will release their new download single, "Live To Rock", followed by the arrival at the stores of their current studio album, "Into The Labyrinth", as well as major tours to support both releases. So a hot autumn is about to start in a few days' time!

SAXON's new single, "Live To Rock", will be available as an Internet download from October 17, and SAXON will present the track live for the first time during the tour which will take Biff Byford and company alongside MOTÖRHEAD and DANKO JONES through England and Germany in November/December 2008. SAXON's new studio album, "Into The Labyrinth", will be out on January 12, 2009 (Germany: January 9; USA: January 13). February 2009 will see the band embark on another major world tour, only one month after the album release.

"Into The Labyrinth" was recorded at the Twilight Hall in Krefeld, Germany, under the direction of Charlie Bauerfeind. SAXON laid down 13 new songs at BLIND GUARDIAN's studio, starting with monumental opener "Battalions Of Steel" through "Demon Sweeney Todd" and "Valley Of The Kings", which both cover historic events, to the final slide guitar blues track "Coming Home" (fans are already familiar with the electric version of this track from SAXON's "Killing Ground" album).

SAXON is currently still working on an additional 14th track, which will be available exclusively as a download on iTunes from the release date.

"The new material was written in England and at my house in France," Byford explains. "Stylistically, I would describe the album as an even balance between 'Lionheart' and 'The Inner Sanctum', a mix of powerful, in-your-face rock songs and pure heavy metal tracks. We're very happy with the production and proud of 'Into The Labyrinth'.

J'aime bien cette pochette du single, ça fait bien rock a la motorhead

Oulà, oui, très éloigné de la pochette du précédent, pas du tout dans le même "créneau", là ça sent presque le Rock sudiste !

J'ai plus d'espoir pour la Saxon que pour le AC/DC.

Encore l'occasion pour qu'ils passent à Paris. J'essayerais d'y aller cette fois j'en ai marre de les loupes à chaque fois.

Comme souvent dans les SAXON, on se tape le titre yeah yeah on fait du rock.
En espérant que l'album soit d'un autre ton. Jusqu'ici on s'en tirait pas trop mal.

Faut pas s'y fier, c'est juste le single qui fera vitrine. Ce n'est pas la première fois qu'ils nous font le coup, et Inner Sanctum s'en tire plutôt bien malgré I've got to Rock.

D'autant que c'est pas la première pochette "rock'n'roll" (Wheels of steel, Forever free...) et c'est aussi moche que Lionheart.

Les titres "yeah yeah on fais du rock", c'est souvent le haut du panier dans leurs albums...

En opposition aux titres "prout prout on fait du metal" ? Ou plutôt aux trucs "grreu grreu on a oublié la mélodie" ?

D'ailleurs comme par hasard, les moins bons albums de ces dernières années sont ceux où il n'y a aucun titre rock'n'roll.

De toutes façons, ma théorie, c'est que plus le groupe joue metal, moins il est bon. Sur le dernier disque c'est les trucs les plus "power" qui m'emmerdent. Les disques précédents étaient très metal aussi et c'était mauvais.

Ouaip. Quoique quand même Killing Ground était assez varié quand même. Par contre Lionheart et Metalhead, effectivement...trop metal, et plutôt faiblard...je préfère d'ailleurs les albums contesté qu'ils ont sortis après Crusader.
