Le groupe va rentrer en studio bientot :

German power metallers PRIMAL FEAR are about to start the recordings for their new studio album. The final pre-production is scheduled for next week and then the band will finally enter the recording studio in the beginning of February.

Commented PRIMAL FEAR bassist Mat Sinner: "We decided to record again at the House of Music studio in Winterbach, Germany with engineer and co-producer Charlie Bauerfeind (BLIND GUARDIAN, SAXON, HALFORD, HAMMERFALL, HELLOWEEN etc.), who recorded and co-produced 'Seven Seals' with me. We plan to record the first period till March 6th, then I will have a short break, we will record another vocal section until the end of March and then we will move to the famous Galaxy studio in Mol, Belgium to mix and master the album with Ronald Prent (IRON MAIDEN, RAMMSTEIN, MANOWAR, DEF LEPPARD etc.). The album will feature 11 tracks, including a duet of Ralf [Scheepers] sharing the lead vocals with a very well-known female singer." Songtitles set to appear on the follow-up to 2005's "Seven Seals" include "Save Me", "Torn" and "Every Time It Rains".

"We will exactly follow the path of Seven Seals for our debut album for Frontiers Records."

German power metallers PRIMAL FEAR have posted the following message on their official web site:

"Sorry for our delay in updating the page with news from the recording session, but a lot of things happened and today we're back with another round of studio news and pictures! The bass guitar recordings were finished last weekend and most of the basic guitar stuff too. At least we are working on final 11 tracks including a 10 minute monster 'Fighting the Darkness'. Mat [Sinner, bass] has injured his left hand yesterday in an accident at the studio. It's not that tragic, that he can't continue to produce the album, but he needs four stiches and a bandage. The doctors have to tell if the SINNER tour has to be postponed... but aside of this, we can report some very creative and lucky moments during the session.

"Simone Simons of EPICA joined us for some sensational vocal work and for the first time in PRIMAL FEAR's career a vocal duet with a female singer. We are very pround about the final version of 'Every Time It Rains', which has a different vibe for PRIMAL FEAR and our fans.

"Ralf Scheepers will continue to track his fantastic vocal work today, while Stefan Leibing will join the band on Thursday to finalize the basic guitars. Orchestra maestro Matthias Ulmer will join the session today to put some finishing touches on the keyboard and orchestra section during the next week!" Other songtitles set to appear on the follow-up to 2005's "Seven Seals" include "Save Me" and "Torn". A summer release via Frontiers Records is expected.

A summer release, allez à la rentrée de septembre, avec le promo pendant les vacances je dirais bien, et j'ai tout aussi hate d'entendre ça

Dernière ligne droite de l'enregistrement. Il semblerait que Simone d'Epica ne soit pas la seule invitée de l'album.

We had a great vocal/guitar session over the weekend! Stefan finished his guitar work for our new album at the U3 studio with our good friend Achim Koehler engineering. Ralf recorded another vocal track. We're only a few steps away to finalize the recordings and we're ready to mix the album. Swedish guitar hero Magnus Karlsson (Starbreaker, Allen/Lande) played two fantastic lead guitars, alternate guns with Stefan and we're waiting for one spot by Gamma Ray's Kai Hansen and the comeback of doctor Henny Wolter! We will start to mix the album on April 15th with Ronald Prent (Rammstein, Manowar, Iron Maiden) at the Galaxy Studio in Belgium.

First, we didn't want to play any festival shows during this summer, because our new album release is scheduled for August 31st, 2007 - but after a nice discussion, we confirmed to play the Rock Am Haertsfeldsee on June 30th - very close to our home, together with Motorhead, Saxon & more!

Argh... Le 31 aout... !!! Enfer et damnation.

Si ils passent autant de temps à peaufiner leur bouzin, ça signifie peut-être qu'il sera bourré d'arrangements hyper-riches étouétou. Je dis oui.

Et puis étant fan de Metallica et BG, je suis habitué à attendre.

Tu dois être habitué à être déçu aussi...

Tu l'attends, ce disque ?

J'ai bien aimé Seven seals, qui un bon disque de metal, sans révolution et sans génie mais avec beaucoup de savoir faire, des mélodies et des titres assez solides. Un exploit pour ce groupe nullissime. Exploit que je n'ai pas manqué de saluer à la sortie de l'album (je l'ai acheté d'ailleurs).
Ils peuvent réitérer l'exploit, d'autant que Matt Sinner a visiblement décidé d'arrêter de bourriner dans le vide (cf. son album, pour moi du même tonneau que Seven seals).
Donc je l'écouterai, mais je ne l'attends pas telle une groupie transie, à l'image de TAOM qu'on n'a jamais connu aussi excité, excepté en période de bas chez les Portenoix.

Certes, j'avoue une passion démesurée pour Seven Seals. Sans aucune autre raison concrète que le pur plaisir inexplicable dans lequel me plonge son écoute.

J'arrive pas à remettre la main sur la source, mais il parait qu'en plus de Fighting the Darkness, on trouverait 2 autres morceaux qui frôleraient les 10 minutes.

Je doute un peu de leur capacité à rester intéressant sur des durées aussi longues, quand même... J'ai peur qu'ils soient frappés du Syndrome J'empile-mes-idées-et-en-avant-Guingamp, appellé aussi syndrome The Blackening.

@TAOM : Et les albums pré-Seven Seals, t'en penses quoi ?

J'en ai écouté deux ou trois et je n'ai pas aimé... Véridique !
