Lauren Harris — daughter of IRON MAIDEN bassist Steve Harris — will release her debut album, "Calm Before The Storm", in Germany on May 30. Release dates for other territories will be announced shortly. A song from the CD, "Steal Your Fire", available for download from Lauren's MySpace page.

"Calm Before The Storm" was produced by Tommy McWilliams (GLORIA ESTEFAN, JON SECADA, LINDSEY LOHAN) and will be released through Demolition Records.

Harris is currently on the road supporting MAIDEN on their Somewhere Back In Time World Tour 2008. She will also play a hadlining show on February 23 at the Hard Rock Café in Mexico City, Mexico.

Lauren Harris launched her career in 2005 after being talent spotted by legendary British producer-writer-artist Russ Ballard who had no idea she was the daughter of Steve Harris.

Following the successful studio session with Russ, Lauren assembled a live band and proceeded to play a series of shows around Florida in the USA and in her native UK.

As word began to circulate around the Internet, Lauren received her first big break in May 2006 when she supported rock legend ALICE COOPER in Sheffield. Her web site was bombarded with new visitors and encouraged by this initial success, the summer of 2006 saw Lauren and her band spread their wings further, playing the prestigious outdoor festival circuit throughout Europe, including high-profile appearances at the German Rock Am Ring and Rock Im Park shows as well as the UK and Dublin Download festivals.

Following these concerts, with word spreading and crowds growing, Lauren could have taken the opportunity to take a break — instead she took on her biggest challenge yet — playing stadiums across the world supporting IRON MAIDEN including such exotic places as the Budokan in Tokyo, Desert Rock Festival in Dubai and Bangalore, India, where Lauren made history as the first woman to front a rock band in concert! She is currently in Australia supporting IRON MAIDEN on their first tour of the continent in 16 years

Things couldn’t have been moving faster for Lauren, following a tour with THE ANSWER in early 2007, she was then approached to be main support for WITHIN TEMPTATION, which was a huge success, attracting rave reviews. For the summer, once again, Lauren played some of the largest outdoor festivals in Europe alongside rock heavyweights such as HEAVEN AND HELL, KORN and STONE SOUR, including a dazzling set at the UK Download festival.

Quoi ?! Il y aurait du favoritisme maidenien en ces terres électroniques ? Je n'ose y croire. J'ai une solution pour éradiquer ça : imposons de ne parler plus que de bons groupes. D'une part, Maiden cessera de gagner les sondages et d'autre part, ça fera clairement du bien à la base de données et son embonpoint.

IRON MAIDEN Bassist To Guest On Daughter's Album - Apr. 21, 2008

Lauren Harris' eagerly anticipated debut album, "Calm Before The Storm", will be available for download on May 19.

The 11-song LP, written over the past three years, has the album's lead track "Steal Your Fire" available for free download now here.

Lauren is the daughter of IRON MAIDEN's Steve Harris, who guests on various tracks of the album, the first time he has played on any recording other than those of MAIDEN.

The LP includes full artwork and an exclusive video show reel for download and is priced at just $5.00 USD for a limited period only.

The CD version of the album will be released worldwide on June 23 through Demolition DR2 Records and will include an extra bonus track, a cover of UFO's "Natural Thing" and a seperate DVD disc which will include the showreel, two full promo videos and slide show.

Following joining MAIDEN successfully on their trans-global "Somewhere Back In Time" tour first leg in February/March, Lauren and her band will continue on tour MAIDEN through North America (May 21 to June 21) and Europe (June 27 to August 19) along with playing a number of European festivals in this period.

Says Lauren: "We have worked hard on this record for some time between out hectic touring schedule and are really delighted that it's finally coming out soon. We hope the many fans around the world who we have met on tour like it as much as we all do, and look forward to seeing many of you again on tour this summer at the MAIDEN shows and festivals we are playing."

Elle a les même gouts de papa Harris on dirait. Surement le meilleur titre de l'album ce cover (à moins qu'elle fasse le même coup que les meks de la nouvelle star avec ACDC).

Hop je remonte ce sujet vu que je dois chroniquer le disque de la miss, et donc l'écouter et si je suis motivé, lui envoyer une interview, et je dois dire en 1ere écoute que c'est du bon rock sympa et frais, mais franchement je me demande si on en causerait si elle s'appelait Lauren Dupont soyons francs, mais bon entendre une fille chanter du bon rock, ça le fait quand même
