 Obituary
Vocalist John Tardy of the Floridian death metal legends OBITUARY has posted the following message on the band's official web site:
"As you may or may not know, we are no longer with our old record company [Roadrunner Records] and we have a lot of options for what we might want to do. One thing is for sure and that is we will have a new CD out sometime this year. We have been working on some new material and when we get done with our European Tour in January we are going to work hard on getting that completed.
"Everything is set for our trip to Europe and we are all ready to go. I was just checking the weather and it looks like we will be freezing our asses off but, as my dad would say, You got to do what you got to do!!!!' Record cold temperatures in some countries is not going to make things easy for us...I can't even remember the last time I put a pair of long pants on???
"Anyway, we look forward to seeing you all out at the shows and really need your support so please come out and see us!!!"
OBITUARY's European tour with SAMAEL and MAROON kicks off January 6 in Weert, Holland. A complete list of currently confirmed tour dates can be found at Obituary.cc.

New Obituary Album on Candlelight
Written by Webmaster
Monday, 23 April 2007
Philadephia: Candlelight Records today proudly confirms September 11 as the US release date for the forthcoming album from death metal legends Obituary. Recording of the currently untitled album is already underway with the album's completion expected for June 1.
Tampa-based Obituary featuring vocalist John Tardy, guitarist Trevor Peres, bassist Frank Watkins and drummer Donald Tardy are one of the genre's most respected and successful bands. Formed in 1985, the quartet have released six critically-acclaimed albums that have to date sold nearly one million copies in the United States.
Regarding the new cooperation Frank Watkins says, "we are very excited to be part of Candlelight Records. This will mark a new chapter in Death Metal history." John Tardy says, ""we are really looking forward to having a record company that wants to work with us. We feel rejuvenated and this new album is gonna be sick!" Donald Tardy adds, ""we couldn't be more pumped about teaming up with Candlelight. It is an unbelievable feeling to know that a record company cares about our music as much as we do."
A full US headline tour is set to kick off the week of the album's release; details to follow
