Quelques news de Saxon, on a failli perdre ce bon vieux Byff, il y a eu le feu chez lui et il a l’air de s’en être sorti de justesse :

SAXON frontman Biff Byford has posted the following message on the band's official web site:

"Well, it's about time I said something!

"First of all, I would like to say 'Thank you' to everybody who sent messages after the fire it was a bad period in our lives but you have to go on and try and make something good from out of the bad. We are now in a new house much bigger than the last one and everybody is starting to put their lives back together. The fire started at five in the morning when we were all in bed [you may believe this or not?] But somebody or something shouted 'Wake up' really loud and I just shot up bolt upright. The room was full of smoke. I woke my wife and we got the children out of there bedrooms by this time the flames were dropping though the ceiling so we had a very lucky escape. Who it was I do not know. I have lost both my parents and some good friends along the way.

"Anyway, that's how it was.

On a lighter note, Nigel [Glockler] is back in the band after 7-8 years we have been rehearsing in the U.K. and it sounds great like he never left! We have to say farewell to Jörg [Michael, STRATOVARIUS] who has left the voyage early and we did not have time say a drunken farewell, but we will real soon, Jörg

Et le groupe tourne toujours et encore, aux USA en novembre et en suede en decembre, respect quand même, ça doit bien faire 4 ans qu'ils tournent sans arret

C'est cool si Nigel Glocker revient, il était un bon compositeur avant. Ca peut relancer le groupe.

Qu'est-ce qui te fait dire ça ? J'ai vérifié sur mes albums parce que ta phrase m'a interloqué : seul, il a écrit une chanson de Innocence is no excuse. Pour le reste il est crédité pour des intros, pour des paroles avec Biff sur Unleash the beast, sinon avec toujours trois ou quatre personnes (donc difficile de dire qui fait quoi sur avec les riffeurs qui trainent !)... Tu confonds pas avec Carter (le bassiste) qui lui a écrit pas mal de chansons sur Solid balls of rock ?

Ouais c'est vrai que c'est moyen mon truc, mais il me semble qu'il s'est cassé après Unleash The Beast, le dernier bon album du groupe. Alors le lien de cause à effet reste à vérifier, mais je reste sur mon a priori positif sur Unleash...

On est d'accord, Unleash the beast est un excellent album et le groupe n'a plus rien écrit d'aussi accrocheur et réussi. Je n'avais pas fait le parallèle avec l'arrivée / départ de Glocker... Pourquoi pas après tout ? On en reparle à la sortie du prochain album (j'espère que tu auras raison !)
