British rock band MAGNUM will release a new studio album, "Here Comes The Rain", on January 12, 2024 via Steamhammer/SPV.

The band led by frontman Bob Catley and guitarist/songwriter Tony Clarkin will issue two singles ahead of the LP release — "Blue Tango" on November 22, 2023 and "The Seventh Darkness" on January 3, 2024. Additionally, a tour has been scheduled to kick off in early April 2024.

The album's highly inspired artwork is once more designed by the great Rodney Matthews, who has already created a number of MAGNUM sleeves to support the band's atmospherically dense music. Says Tony Clarkin: "The back cover features a kind of avian battalion in attack mode, which I think is a great allegory!"

Tony Clarkin, guitarist, mastermind and main songwriter of the U.K. prog/pomp/AOR rock band MAGNUM, has died at the age of 77. The news of his death comes just weeks after it was announced that he had been diagnosed with a rare and incurable spinal condition. As a result of his diagnosis, MAGNUM canceled its previously announced spring 2024 tour.

Earlier today (Tuesday, January 9),Tony's family released the following statement: "On behalf of the family it is with profound sadness that daughter Dionne Clarkin is sharing the news of the passing of Tony Clarkin. Following a short illness, he died peacefully surrounded by his girls on Sunday 7th January 2024.

Le groupe de rock anglais MAGNUM sortira son nouvel album live, intitulé Live At KK’s Steel Mill, le 10 janvier 2025 via Steamhammer / SPV Entertainment.

Ce disque est le dernier album live du groupe avec son fondateur, le guitariste Tony Clarkin, décédé en janvier 2024.

Enregistré le 10 décembre 2022, « Live At KK’s Steel Mill » est le dernier concert de MAGNUM dans le cadre de sa tournée européenne qui s’est terminée au KK’s Steel Mill de Wolverhampton. C’est donc la dernière captation live officielle d’un concert avec Tony Clarkin.

Le chanteur Bob Catley déclare : « C’était une soirée parfaite. Nous avons terminé notre tournée The Monster Roars à Wolverhampton et le KK’s Steel Mill était complet. Le promoteur était un fan de MAGNUM. Je ne pourrais imaginer meilleurs enregistrements pour dire au revoir à Tony. »
