Image Entertainment has set a September 5, 2006 release date for the "Gigantour" two-disc DVD, featuring highlights from the tour's inaugural run which took place last summer.

Gigantour kicked-off on July 21, 2005 in Fresno, California, and hit 39 cities in the U.S. and Canada before ending on September 11, 2005 in Portland, Oregon. The tour was a seven-week festival trek co-headlined by MEGADETH and DREAM THEATER, featuring ANTHRAX, FEAR FACTORY, THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN, NEVERMORE, LIFE OF AGONY, SYMPHONY X, DRY KILL LOGIC and BOBAFLEX. Several of the bands performed only at specified cities on the schedule. The tour was the brainchild of MEGADETH frontman/guitarist Dave Mustaine, who handpicked the bands for the tour.

The "Gigantour" DVD will contain the following performance footage:

Arf, désolé Rectal Terror, en fait je l'ai pas regardé ce Bonus, j'en ai pris connaissance après coup...

Les "petites mains", c'est sur le second DVD, Train of consequences je pense, et un autre clip...Tu dois trouver ça facilement sur le net (pas vus non plus )

Sinon, c'est Capitol qui a sorti le DVD, c'est pour ça qu'on a rien des deux derniers albums (ya bien eu un clip pour Moto Psycho au minimum) et c'est également pour ça que le DVD est décevant au final, je trouve...

MEGADETH frontman Dave Mustaine and drummer Shawn Drover recently spoke to Jon Wiederhorn of MTV.com about the progress of the recording sessions for the band's new album, "United Abominations", which is scheduled for a Halloween release.

"We rented [LED ZEPPELIN drummer] John Bonham's drum kit and recorded at a studio in [PINK FLOYD guitarist] David Gilmour's house [in England], which was great," Mustaine said.

"The kit is the only one that's available in the world to rent," Drover added. "Dave surprised me with that, which was pretty incredible because I didn't even know it was possible to get Bonham's kit to rent for anybody. So I incorporated the bass drum and his floor tom and a snare on the kit that I use in the studio, and that was really inspiring. We played in the middle of nowhere and it was just a really cool vibe."

Regarding the musical direction of "United Abominations", Mustaine said, "If I was to say what time this record would have came out, I would have said some time before [1990's] 'Rust in Peace' or sometime after [1992's] 'Countdown to Extinction'. The critics called 'The System Has Failed' a return to form, but this is even more so. The record company that I'm with now gets it and I'm with management who gets it. So I don't have to write songs because the wives of certain bandmembers are griping or their mortgage is not getting paid or management is telling me that I've got to get a record done to do the tour and I've got to do the tour because if not, I'm not going to be able to pay my bills."

"United Abominations" will contain 11 songs, including the title track, "Washington's Next" and "Gears of War" an additional track will be included with the Japanese release. "It's a really diverse record," Shawn said. "There's some faster stuff that should appeal to the band's thrash fans and it's got a little more mainstream stuff as well. It's definitely not one-dimensional."

Je le trouve cool le titre. Ca fait vraiment Megadeth avec des paroles bien saignantes. Dans la droite lignée de The System Has Failed niveau lyrics on dirait.

Mustaine a souvent eu le sens de la formule pour ses albums (sauf pour Cryptic Writings et Risk...) et c'est vrai qu'une fois de plus, ya une espèce d'ambiguité entre un titre assez bourrin formé façon organisation humanitaire, j'aime

oui c'est un doc, ça retrace l'histoire du groupe, avec des commentaires du groupe, des ex membres, hetfield/ulrich!

Doc qui retrace la vie et la carrière de Mustaine et Megadeth, avec des photos d'archives, de très (trop) courts extraits live.
Des interventions d'anciens membres, d'amis du groupe ou d'ancien managers.
Seul inconvénient, c'est en anglais non sous titré.
Mais c'est très interessant, et les interventions de Hetfield et Ulrich sont parfois amusante, notament quand Lars avoue à James qu'il écoutait Peace Sells en cachette.
Et surtout ils sont souriant et pas rancuniers pour un sous, j'ai rarement vu Hetfield comme ça.
A croire qu'en fait, Dave lui manquerai.
