SAVAGE CIRCUS, the German/Swedish band featuring former BLIND GUARDIAN drummer Thomen Stauch and PERSUADER members Jens Karlsson (vocals, guitar) and Emil Norberg (lead guitar), has commenced the songwriting process for its second album, tentatively due in October via Dockyard 1.

Pas plus de précisions pour l'instant. Mais ils feraient bien de s'éloigner un peu de BG s'ils veulent que je m'y intéresse.

Eux ils commencent l'écriture de l'album fin juillet pour une sortie en octobre. Ca promet.

La nouvelle date de fin Mai, en fait.

@Jules: Bah. De toute façon, Thomen recycle tellements les riffs de BG qu'il pourrait en remplir huit albums en deux semaines normalement.

J'ai réécouté Dreamland Machin. Et à part Evil Eyes et the Gathering qui ne sont que des repompes à la con de Somewhere Far Beyond et The Last Candle, c'est pas si BGien que ça, finalement.

Si on enlève l'omniprésence de mélodies zigouigoui à la gratte et le timbre général de Carlsson, on a quoi ? Du IRON SAVIOR.

Les riffs ? du Piet Sielck.
Les lignes de chant ? du Piet Sielck.
Les solos ? du Piet Sielck, avec un peu plus de mélodies harmonisées que d'habitude.
Les choeurs ? du Piet Sielck.

A part les 2 titres cités au-dessus, écrits par Stauch, c'est du IRON SAVIOR avec plus de breaks et de passages instrumentaux. C'est 10 fois moins riche et moins fin que du BG.

J'attends pas grand-chose de ce deuxième album. Sielck est rinçé, de toutes façons.

SAVAGE CIRCUS members Jens Karlsson (vocals), Emil Norberg (lead guitar) and Piet Sielck (guitar, bass, backing vocals) has issued the following statement:

"After the recent events at the Rengsdorf Rock & Blues Festival and the Rock Am Schloss Festival the band sees no perspective any more to go on with our drummer Thomen Stauch [ex-BLIND GUARDIAN]. Therefore we immediately release him from all duties.

"Even though we are aware of his personal situation we cannot ignore the fact anymore that he is still not able to carry out his duties for SAVAGE CIRCUS.

"Already in summer 2005 Thomen started to cancel most of his all planed out promotional activities. In 2006 he canceled the Japanese shows and wasn't part of any other activity for the whole year. We gave him this entire year to solve his situation because we deeply hoped that he would be able to recover and to get back into pace again. But instead in spring this year Thomen almost canceled the CIRCLE II CIRCLE tour. Now he canceled two festival shows with extremely short notice again...

"We are very sorry, but we cannot take this any more. We supported and backed Thomen up for over 2 1/2 years by now, but as sad as it is we must face that it is just not going anywhere. Even though we still do have a lot of understanding for his situation, we cannot allow the unintended but yet serious damage he is doing to the band in which all of us invest so much energy and work. We do want SAVAGE CIRCUS to happen, but we cannot see it happen with Thomen any more.

"We are not looking back in anger, we'd rather like to look into the future. The production of the 'Dreamland Manor' follow-up is not dramatically affected by this, but we will need some time to decide and work in a worthy replacement, who will be anounced shortly. Therefore the release date will move to early 2008.

"We wish Thomen well and hope, that he will find his way."

SAVAGE CIRCUS recently released a DVD, entitled "Live in Atlanta", through Dockyard 1. The live footage was filmed last year at the ProgPower USA VII festival in Atlanta, GA.

SAVAGE CIRCUS issued its debut album, "Dreamland Manor", in North America in March 2006 via Century Media Records. An MP3 for the track "Evil Eyes" has been posted online at this location. The North American version of the CD, which was issued in Europe in August 2005, includes the "Evil Eyes" video.

Sielk a perdu Hansen, il y a quelques années de ça et du coup son groupe s'est limite cassé la gueule il va vouloir embaucher un autre mec connu, quoique la je sais pas si il fait une affaire au niveau de la popularité!

Je savais même pas que Sielck faisait partie de savage circus, il joue sur le 1er album?

Et vu la faiblesse de son inspiration ces dernières années, je vois pas comment il peut faire face avec 2 groupes.

Il essaye de rattrapper le qualitatif par du quantitatif ?

Bon je suis en train de l'écouter ce 1er Savage Circus, ben en fait je le trouve plutôt bon!! J'étais passé à côté à cause d'une certaine aversion envers BG, belle erreur en fait.

Je suis assez d'accord avec Odin pour dire qu'il y a au moins autant d'influence Iron Savior que BG, notamment dans les lignes de chant et bien sur le son de guitare. Mais bon sang c'est quand même largement supérieur aux derniers Iron Savior!

Pour l'instant il me semble meilleur que tout ce qu'a produit BG hormis la triplette Somewhere/Imaginations/Nime.

Quant à la démarche je vois pas le problème, Kai Hansen a bien formé Gamma Ray pour faire du Helloween

On verra si l'album tient sur la longueur.

@DS: oui, mais Kaiounet était un des compositeurs principaux de Helloween. Thomen n'a pas signé grand chose chez BG, on ne peut pas vraiment dire qu'il reprenne sa propre tambouille.

Ceci dit, c'est à tempérer car il lui arrivait visiblement de composer des trucs pour BG. Trucs qui étaient systématiquement rejetés par Olbrich, parce que trop "old-BG". Du coup, difficile de quantifier la partie immergé de l'apport de Thomen au groupe.

Sinon, enculeur de mouche un jour, enculeur de mouche toujours, je note que, selon ton affirmation, Dreamland Manor est meilleur que tout BG...sauf la quasi-moitié en fait.
Bon, ça, c'est juste pour la vannouille, parce que je suis presque d'accord. C'est effectivement un peu au dessus des deux premiers BG ainsi que du dernier. Enfin, j'trouve.
Je vais le revendre quand même. Je pense. Si je me décide et que ça te tente, hein...

The guitarist is already fixed and the vocalist is almost fixed. I'm still checking more details with him. I'm still searching the right bassist, but that shouldn't be too hard to find!

"All I can say is that the guitarist is a German, really hard-working man and a virtuoso guitar player who loves his job 100%!!! The singer, if it will be this one at the end, comes from the United States and is surely well known by all of you! I admire his work and love especially his early works with his band from my early metal years! One thing for sure!!! Both musicians are very professional ones and so far the coolest, nicest guys I've ever talked to and met!

"We've just started to write the first parts of the first songs for that band!
