Atlanta progressive metallers MASTODON have cancelled their previously announced summer tour, which was scheduled to launch in Germany on June 5 and wrap in Finland on July 3. The band's guitarist, Bill Kelliher, was diagnosed with pancreatitis (a sudden inflammation of the pancreas which can have severe complications and high mortality despite treatment) and was advised by doctors to pursue further medication. Doctors are optimistic and expect a full recovery in the coming weeks for Bill, as the band is eager to take part in the BlackDiamondSkye tour (also featuring ALICE IN CHAINS and DEFTONES), which is scheduled to kick off in Chicago on September 16.

Mastodon will release their first-ever live experience package entitled LIVE AT THE ARAGON on March 15th, 2011.

The set will contain a CD and DVD recorded and filmed live October 19th, 2009, at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago. MASTODON: LIVE AT THE ARAGON DVD + CD is comprised of Crack The Skye performed live in its glorious entirety along with fan favorites from Blood Mountain (2006) and Leviathan (2004) plus a brutal cover of “The Bit” by Melvins.

The DVD will also feature a 58 minute tour film titled "Crack The Skye: The Movie" that contains the films which were projected on screen, behind the band in performance.

Mastodon are set to release a 15th Anniversary Edition of their groundbreaking concept album Crack The Skye.

Originally released in 2009, the new version will be available in multiple configurations: 2LP & Blu-Ray Deluxe Box, 2CD & Blu-Ray Deluxe, Standard 2LP Vinyl, Standard 2CD, and Digital Deluxe. All configurations notably feature a newly remastered version of the original album on Disc 1, while Disc 2 houses Crack The Skye: The Score with instrumentals of every track available on physical for the first time.
