http://www.dreamtheaterbook.com/

Cette bio est écrite par un journaliste de rock anglais, Rich Wilson, et sera accompagnée d'un CD (chutes de studio, lives, démos...).

les details du truc, ça a l'air sympa :

London, England-based publisher Essential Works will release "Lifting Shadows – The Authorized Story of Dream Theater" in luxury format via the company's web site sometime before Christmas.

Please be aware that this book will not be available in high street shops or other online retailers. The book can ONLY be ordered via the Essential Works web site. The book is also being produced in a special, limited-edition format which obviously means that stocks are not endless.

"Lifting Shadows" is being produced because of the fans' support. As a special added thank you, it has been agreed with the publishers that for a limited time, those fans who order soon will get their names printed in the book in a special "Roll Of Honor" section at the rear of the "Images" book. This offer will be open until midnight GMT on August 31. After that time, you will still be able to order the books, but your name will not appear.

"Lifting Shadows" will be printed in a deluxe "Images and Words" limited-edition version that includes a free CD of DREAM THEATER music. This limited edition comprises two hardback books that are held together in a slipcase. It is likely that the book cover will be designed by legendary rock artist Hugh Syme.

The first of these books is entitled "Images" and is crammed with color photos of the band, previously unseen/unused album artwork, letters, press releases and a host of other memorabilia. "Images" is printed on luxury 130gsm art paper, measures 234 x 197mm and has around 192 pages.

The second book, "Words", contains the definitive biography of the band. It is printed on 80gsm paper, measures 234 x 153mm and has around 384 pages. The book features all new interviews with the band and a host of others who have played their part in the rise of one of prog-metal's finest bands. The book's foreword has been written by DREAM THEATER drummer Mike Portnoy.

The material on the CD has been compiled by Mike Portnoy from his personal archives and contains the following tracks:

01. Another Won (1985) (Original Instrumental Berklee Demo)
Taken from the Ytsejam Records CD "The Majesty Demos 1985-1986"

Concernant le titre Repentance, vous aurez remarqué que plusieurs voix parlées se superposent vers le milieu du morceau. Récupéré sur le forum de yourmajesty, voici le casting faramineux par ordre d'apparition des invités et ce qu'ils disent :

Corey Taylor - "Until that moment, I'd never felt like I'd failed at anything...And I felt like I failed her...And I failed myself, and I failed my children...It's still really hard to deal with."
Steve Vai - "I want to thank you for helping me to see my own selfishness and to tell you how regretful I am it has hurt you."
Chris Jericho - "I'm sorry I didn't visit you in the hospital, Grandpa when you were on your deathbed. I'm sorry I didn't come to your funeral...I don't know if I was selfish or just too scared to face it. It's one of the biggest regrets of my life."
David Ellefson - "I'm here to confess with you that what I did, was wrong... And I'm asking for your forgiveness..."
Steve Hogarth - "The only unforgivable thing hauls itself out of bed, looks over my shoulder at the bloody English weather..."
Joe Satriani - "I really regret not being able to see my friend Andy..."
Mikael Åkerfeldt - "One of my best friends who's the godfather of my daughter, he asked me to sing or play something at his wedding, and I turned it down because I was busy and too much of a chickenshit to do it...And I feel sorry for that, because it was a very very close friend of mine..."
Steven Wilson - "So, I wanted to apologize to anyone that I've upset or offended.. they're just words, it's just an opinion, but unfortunately, I tend to express it as a fact, and that's kind of arrogant. Isn't it?"
Jon Anderson - "I think it's the betrayal...it still haunts me."
Neal Morse - "I'm sorry for what I did back then... I was a different person. I really was and I'm so sorry. I wish it wouldn't have happened, but it did, and I'm sorry. Forgive me. I'm sorry..."
Daniel Gildenlöw - "I guess I'm simply sorry for being me and not you. I so often wish you could be here with me to show me the way..."
David Ellefson - "You're only as sick as your secrets, but the truth shall set you free..."
Corey Taylor - "The truth is the truth, so all you can do is live with it."

voila pour ceux que ça interessent
